While using a pathfinder in a competition hunt can I run it off my personal cell phone or do I need a separate phone to use?

I currently have a Garmin and so does everybody that I hunt with. Is it better for me to stay with the Garmin that way anybody can track my dog?

It seems like there is more used Garmin Equipment available.

I use mine in the hunts . It's all I have done with Garmin . Phone use was prohibited in UKC hunts cause of scores being shared through the buddy system to be able to achieve high scoring dog . That's been done away with now that just a cast win counts . I just don't make or receive calls or text while hunting .
