People and animals can and do have thyroid problems, not all, but some do and they can be fatal if not treated. Thyroid hormone is essential to every cell in the body, problems arise from over active or hyper active thyroid. Research the thyroid to see just how serious these problems really are. DO NOT believe the naysayers that do not accept legitimate thyroid problems as the cause of certain behavior in people or animals. Inform yourself through legitimate medical evidence and not by the misguided opinion of some coonhunters. There is abuse in the animal world where people try and gain an edge over the competition with no real concern for the animals welfare, this does not negate the real problems that occur naturally in animals and people. Not enough thyroid hormone or too much is bad for those affected, it needs to be tested and kept in balance and may take some time to regulate properly. A thyroid specialist medical doctor said a non functioning thyroid might take months to produce severe symptoms, but would cause death if not treated properly. Should say under active and over active thyroid causes problems. Dave
