Out of Dual Grand Digger’s Blue Cajun Swamper and NtCh Digger’s Blue Southern Dixie. Swamper is a direct son of Uchtmans Clyde and Dixie is direct out of Diggers Blue Spot who placed 5th overall at the 2021 TOC. Here’s everything about the dog and my reasons for selling. I’ve owned him since birth and I’ve been behind him every night he’s been in the woods. Well mannered in the kennel, rarely barks, leads and loads. Silent on the ground (only heard a handful of barks on the ground from him in his life) even with company opening like crazy on a hot track he stays quiet until treed. Decent little tree dog, all bawl and fairly loud. Pretty accurate when he decides to get treed. Will split tree and has split treed from my old dogs plenty of times, but not a dead loner, 100% independent, get split every time dog. Not junky whatsoever. Trees his own coon. Not a blow out of country get gone dog. Hunts the woods he’s put in at his own pace. I’ve hunted him mostly by himself since spring when he started consistently splitting from the old dogs.
My issues with him. From time to time he silent trees. Not so much looking up but when in a hole or brush pile and he’s never been beat or shocked off them.
He doesn’t come. If I tone, shock, or holler for him he stops and stays in that exact spot until I retrieve him.
He’s not gonna set the woods on the fire. There’s nothing jaw dropping or flashy to him. He’s still young so some nights he looks pretty decent and other nights he looks like a pup. Most of the time he’s a 2 or 3 trees in an hour type dog. He’s not action packed. If you’re looking for something to push hard in the competitions and win every event you enter this dog is currently not it. I have other pups that are coming along that I would like to devote more time into so something’s gotta go.
