I like a combination type dog...an all around well balanced dog that can be casted alone and can pack up quickly depending on who hits a good track first...

If I cast four dogs I expect all four dogs to split up and hunt out in different directions...

When a dog strikes a track and the other dogs are coming at a fast speed to join the chase and one hits a good track on the way in...well it’s not a bad thing but I prefer my dogs to work together on a big boar hog...

I can not tolerate dogs that when casted hunt in straight lines and just run straight out for a mile or more...that dog won’t stay long in my kennel, real estate is limited...when the dogs are sent to a hundred or three hundred acre patch of woods I expect the dogs to cover it and if they come out I will feel confident there aren’t any pigs in the area...

Again...the dog needs to prove he can work alone and do it well...that’s first priority...but I want that dog to pack up and honor another good dog quickly...

I used to think everyone considered this type of dog to be the ultimate hunting dog...generally speaking of course...lol
