2 many pups

My female just had 12 pups. Am afraid she doesn't have enough teats for them all. Anyone have experience with supplemental feeding pups. Should I just let nature take its course?

depends on the mother really .we had 13 one time ,and was never a problem .every pup made it ,and was healthy.most females are done feeding by 6 weeks in my experience and cant wait to get clear of those sharp puppy teeth.the mother that had the 13 kept wanting to feed them even past 8 weeks, but she was an exceptional mother.if memory serves she had 10 nipples.dealing with 13 pups was the hard part.i only wanted 6 to 8.took about a month longer to get them to their destination.we let nature take its course.

Bottle feeding puppies

using goats milk puppies seem to respond to that. We usually take the puppy away from mom one at a time because she will not be happy if you are handling her pups.Make sure the milk is warm but not hot or cold . squeeze the bottle make sure of two things the flow of milk is not too much or too little . It may take a few minutes to get the puppy going,i really cant stress this enough be patient this is the time that things wont go as planned just be prepared end goal is to get puppies fed.
