Toc Question

So I’ve been pushing a female in some hunts this fall for a friend of mine and picked up 5 registered wins on her. However, she already had a win in January of 2019 that he didn’t know of which gives her a total of 6 registered wins. Will the 5 wins this year still qualify her for TOC or will she need a nitech win?

So she won a registered cast when she was technically a Nite Champion?

You might want to call UKC about that one just to make sure.

Coby is right one of those may not count. Call field operations they can help you figure it out.

The dog must have been entered in the correct class to be awarded a win by UKC. Sounds like the fourth win would have made her Nite Champion, therefore, she was entered and competed in the wrong class on that fifth one. If that is the case, she was not eligible for a Registered Class win on that last one.

I always thought that they weren't officially a Nt Ch until you got a certificate and letter from UKC notifying you that they were. Has that changed now that we have TOC?

If I think that my dog gets it's fifth registered win on Fri night at a breed days, do I now have to hunt it in Champions class on Sat night for it to count as a cast win? What if I am wrong and my dog only had 4 wins and I hunted it as a Champion and win my cast? Will that win not count? Oh my goodness, this is going to get confusing now.

To my understanding it is and always has been the responsibility of the entrant to make sure the dog was entered in the right class. Hunt a reg. dog Friday night and make NtCh then enter the same dog in Ch class Saturday night. Having to wait for a certificate from UKC would not be good for the owner or UKC. Just eliminate a entry to a future hunt.

At one time you did have to wait for confirmation from UKC, but that was at least 20-25 years ago.
