Female World Champs ?

For the females who have earned the title UKC World champion, whose daughter was the closet to win the World Championship?? 🤔

I think your byline probably confirms my first suspicion: Split Creek History Quick.

Not a female pup but....

2 time World Champion ( 98 & 2000) English female GRNTCH Backroads Rosie had a MALE dark time danny boy place 10th in the top twenty the same year she placed 13th . It was the first time ever in ukc history a mother and son placed in top twenty together and may still be . Few years later in 2004 Rosie had ANOTHER MALE pup who was the Eng World Champ GRNTCH Barber Creek Ace whom placed 17th .

It doesnt count since not direct daughter i guess, but this same Rosie female had a grand daughter miss the top 20 by one place couple years ago.

Rosie reproduced and still has her World title blood flowing through several dogs today.

Very interesting, makes you wonder why more World Champ females don't have World Champ pups. I read a lot on here about the females playing a big influence in the litter.

World Champion hunters aren't necessarily World Champion breeders. Just because you have a very nice female doesn't mean that you can breed her to any stud and get excellant pups. That is kinda like taking a "brood" female, breeding her to a World Champion male and expecting to get great pups.
Just having the right female doesn't mean that you don't have to still do your homework.
You can't just look at traits or ability and you can't just look at papers or pedigree. You have to combine the two. And then there are still no quarantees.

What about World Champion littermates or brother/sisters? I mean, if you make a good cross where one pup wins the World Championship, you would think that a couple more in the litter would be that nice also.

Which is the better cross; one that produces one World Champion and eight duds or one that produces 9 pretty good dogs but no World Champion?

Which dog will be the best reproducer, a dog from the litter of pretty nice dogs or the World Champion?

Will the littermates of the World Champion be good reproducers?

Limiting the pool.

By asking for the female to actually win the world hunt, you restrict the pool to just a very few.

Stylish Queen did not win a World Hunt, but placed high. And, she had "several" pups, both male and female that placed very high. And, she produced pups that placed in World Hunts from multiple litters and multiple stud dogs.

Because winning a world hunt is rare, and when a female can only produce so many pups,........ and so many of them die,go to half... hunters, and come in heat well there ya go.

True. The backwoods Rosie English dog mentioned earlier never actually won the world hunt herself. I believe she was world champion English but didn’t win it. I hunted with her many times and she was super nice.
