First Strike Youth Series Fund Contributions
UKC recently implemented the First Strike Series; a series that awards points to youth handling dogs in the hunts and shows in both the Hunting Beagle and the Performance Pack formats. Complete information is published in the May Issue of American Beagler. The series kicks off on May 1st, 2017.

At the Hunting Beagle Nationals we conducted a fund raiser to help pay for the awards for its winners. Any entrant, so inclined, contributed $5 where half of the proceeds went to the highest placing dog in the category, whose owner had contributed, and the other half went to this Youth Fund.
$500 was raised through the entrant fundraiser and an additional $220 was raised through private donations.
Additionally, the following also clubs pledged contributions towards this effort. UKC is truly grateful for the contributions from those beaglers and the following clubs. Officers and members of several other clubs also expressed their interest in contributing but wanted to take it to their next club meeting. Any of those clubs interested in contributing will be added to the list. At the Nationals alone we raised $1,472.00!
It's a great cause that emphasizes on the future of the sport. To all the beaglers and the clubs who contributed; thank you so much!
