20 gauge slug ??

I have a 20 gauge rossi with mod barrel. Would it be ok to shoot slugs through it? If so what is the best slug? How far will it hold up and be accurate? Thanks

That's not the ideal rig for shooting slugs but it will work. Mod. choke will deform the slug and cut down your range. Buy a couple of boxes of slugs and see what they will do at 50 yards and 75. Make sure you don't use 3 inch loads in a 2" 3/4 chamber just in case you didn't know that. Ditto on using rifled slugs. If you could group shots in a six inch circle at 60 yards you might be OK to deer hunt with it but you should look into getting a Rem. 870 or Mossberg 500 with the deer barrel, better all around in 12 or 20 ga. You will have fewer gut shot deer or missed with either.

Remington 12 ga 870 Canteliver Rifled barrel 4 power scope, Shells-Winchester Premiums Silver $3.00 each. 200 yards all day long. Almost Interlocking.

Yes You can use your set up I would say you need Iron sites though front and back.
