I purchased a purple ribbon female American bully but her papers say she's an apbt. I know I can try to register her as an American bully I have printed that application out to send in with her papers. I have read that once I register her as an American bully she loses the purple ribbon. Is there any way to get that back once she's an American bully?

The only way for your dog to get the Purple Ribbon status back would be if your dog's parents, grand-parents & great grand-parents were all switched over the American Bullies.

How important is purple ribbon? I am trying to get started with the bullies so I have been researching everything.

That depends. To some people it's very important as it shows a history of ancestors all registered with UKC. To other people it's not important at all.

You can take your dog to a vet to verify the birthdate to see if it matches the birthdate on the papers.
