No respect - OT

I was at a red light the other day when I see a funeral procession coming down the rd. so i stay at the red light while its green to let the people go. This old lady behind me blows the horn at me and then backs up and goes around me and cuts right in front of the limo that was probably carrying the family. I could have t-boned the side of her car. no one has respect for nothing anymore.

Around my part of world people will still pull over on the side of the road and let you pass. If you pass a construction site most of the time the guys will stop working and take their hats off till you get by.

I think that's the way folks are around here as well.
When Strom Thurmond, SR passed, they brought his body to his home, Edgefield, SC. There were people getting out of their cars and putting thier hands over their hearts for him. They lined up from Aiken to Edgefield ~ a good 25 miles.~Traffic stopped on I20 as well! I know they wouldn't do that for "ordinary folk" but it was kind of cool to see how much people respected him.

(glad you didn't hit her! she probably didn't have the right kind of "insurance!" )

Sounds like she was driving in her own little world. You have to wonder if she can keep up with anything other than what is right in front of her bumper. Drivers like that are more than disrespectful they are dangerous. Bad eye sight, loss of hearing, to much allergy medicine, two beers and then some and they are driving a vehicle in traffic with you or someone you care about. Failing to yield to a funeral procession isn't the half of it but it sure is a sad way to be.

I once helped ride escort for some Special Olympics folks who were carrying the torch to start their event up here in the Mpls. area. Some golfer dude who was late for his tee time was ready to crap a kitten because he was not allowed to pass the runners on a two lane county road at 7 am on a Saturday. My orders were that no one may pass and I stuck to it. Even after telling him what the deal was he was one unholy POS. Bless his heart, he took another route. What's your guess he golfed anyhow, hope it was a high score. LOL

Back when my granddaddy died, on the way to bury him, some jacka$$ tried to pass by us............I whipped in the other lane and blocked them from doing it so no one was passing my granddaddy's hearse.....to be honest I would have rather have sideswiped them off the road.

re

this man/woman i dont know who it was, was a veteran also, i saw the flag from the back window of the hurse. and she wasnt to old to get a cussing if i could have gotten out of the car i promise you that. also if i could have backed up and blocked the whole dang intersection going into ingles, best believe i would have. i take my hat off at every procession i have ever seen, and i was raised that way
