ACL Tear

Anyone have a hound tear there ACL and make a full recovery either surgically or non surgical?

I had one fixed many years ago at the local vet and it held together for many miles With a experimental procedure, But that was long ago

we have a little 10 month old plott female that is a little fire ball. She couldn't put any weight on her back leg and we went for a week squeezing and trying to find what was hurt. She wouldn't whine or anything when you moved it around. We took her to vet and she had a partially torn ACL. The vet told us to put her up for 2 weeks then get her out and give her light work. If that didn't help surgery was gonna be 2200$. We put her in the brooder for 2 weeks and then got her out and she seems to be alot better. Took her last night and she acts fine and is putting weight on it again.

Acl

Had a big male Redbone tear his ACL in a hind leg. I didn't know until years later what was wrong exactly. Back when it happened, had just layed him up for a few days. It improved fairly fast, but after a hard night hunting and riding home in the box he'd be carrying it from the truck to his dog house, next day he'd be pretty much normal. Over time maybe 6 months it seemed to finally heal up. A few years later during a vet examination, the vet told me he'd had a torn ACL at some point.
Knowing what I know now, jumping on and off the tailgate would have been avoided, it seems that would cause a flare up more than anything. Probably depends on how bad the tear is though.
My vet said if surgery was performed, no guarantee it would hold.
