mini pups

Jr are you going to try to get a pup from Dave? If so my wife is on vacation the first week of november,she has a aunt in Indiana she wants to go visit. So if every thing works out and Dave is ok with it I would go over to Daves and pick my pup up. I could get yours to. Its 348 miles from my house to Daves according to Mapquest. Let me know what you think. Kenny

I would love to have one.. I am wanting a female and I don't think they are enough to go around. I am still in the air about taking a male.. I really appreciate the offer.. Check with me right before you go and see what happens... I am wanting a Roofus pup bad... Thanks, JR

Roofus

I would like to have a pup out of Roofus and the right female.I have two females here one just went out of heat shes out of Charley VII & Pearl she is starting to turn the crank I didn't want to breed her and set her back. The other would be a cousin to Roofus, she is a good female but won't come in.Maybe some day we can make it happen. Kenny

Roofus' son Bawlie got another Best of Show last night. I will post a picture as soon as I can get it processed.

The thing I like about Bawlie is that he is so level headed and managable. He just has a lot of sense about him. I will be dropping some coon on him soon. And, I will be picking up his blue littermate this week. I plan to call him Chopper. With any luck, I will be able to show Chopper in the open class and Bawlie in the Champion class.

Eventually, both Bawlie and Chopper will be for sale. Both can tree an easy coon now at 12 months old.

Kenny and Junior, those Mini pups are doing OK. It looks like she is going to raise all 7 pups. I plan on keeping both females. I am NOT afraid of close linebreeding and these females will be candidates for breeding to Roofus some day.

Dave, That is what I had in mind If I got a female is breed back to Roofus. That is if she turned out to be a coon dog. I will be happy to get a male to start next spring. Can't wait to see some pictures. Take care and I'll talk to you later. Kenny

Here is the picture taken at the Bench Show last night. They ran out of color ink on the printer at the show, so the original picture didn't come out right. When I copied it to my computer, I tried to adjust the color, but it didn't come out exactly right. And, the date is not correct. At least you can see how well Bawlie is standing now.

Roofus' half sister Champion Grand Nite Champion Rocky Run Sis won the Illinois State Governor's Cup Hunt this week end. Sis won 1st place Saturday night at English Days a couple of years ago as a 1 year old. I have littermate a sister I call Angel that I feel could win any hunt if I would put her in one.

The thing I like most about Bawlie is his sensibilty. He seems to want to please me. I will be taking him to the woods this week and maybe I can finish him as a Bench Champion soon. I will be getting a littermate this week also.

That's great news...I hunted Roofus in the WV Governers Cup back in May. Roofus done very well he won his cast. We just wasn't put in enough coons to bring home the BIG win..

I had a pup approx. 11 years ago that was a heck of a hound. She always seemed to want to please you.

I believe the wanting to please you trait comes from breeding for intelligence and the first trait I breed for is intelligence. I have had some hard headed dogs that were fairly good coon dogs but I like dogs that learn quickly and want to please you. Roofus is siring intelligent pups.

I will be picking up the blue Roofus pup tomorrow morning. I hope Chopper will be as smart as Bawlie.

All a dog can do is win their cast. Some clubs will dry hole a known good dog. I am sure Sis had a good draw but she wins everywhere. I think my Angel is just as good as Sis but I don't Nite Hunt any more.

Junior, eventually, it will be 3 out of 3, I just haven't had time to make it happen yet. The little female may be the best one of the three. I can't get her bought. My friends says she is a determined tree dog already. Gets up on the wood and won't budge. Of course at 12 months old, they all have a lot to learn. But, I expect natural coon dogs and I think all 3 pups will fit the description of being natural coon dogs. They just need to be taken to the woods.

This was a double dose of lakeland breeding last night... I plan on crossing these two when she comes in heat. Her mouth is her weakness. She is a fast barker but not real loud..

Junior, glad to see that you are still posting.

The 2 Roofus pups are doing great. Both hunt, run, and tree. Both have big mouths. Both can tree a coon but are a ways from being coon dogs. Fot their age and experiance, both are nice young dogs.

I got a Best of Show on Chopper and a Champion of Champion win on Bawlie last Saturday night.

I have been hunting those Roofus pups. They are naturals. Both have treed their own coon but have a ways to go to be as good as their daddy. They are nice pups that are easy to train.
