The clay county coon club will be hosting the second annual Ky mountain championship September 19th&20th. This year we will be giving away $3500 cash, anew garmin combo, jacket, hats, dog food, and a page in the Cooner for the dial four.

We hunted 96 dogs last year and should break that this year hopefully. We will be using the same system to determine the winner. Cast winners will be wrote on the board each night and double cast winners will compete in a final four hunt off. Last year we had 5 dogs that were double cast winners so in that scenario the 4 dogs with the highest combined score made up the final four. The hunt off was hunted under ukc rules for 1hr.

We had a great hunt last year guys. No problems of arguments. We guide to some of the surrounding counties where the mountains aren't so bad. I know the terrain here scares people but trust me the hunters around here find the easy spots to go. Plus you can drive 30 mins from the club and be out in flat country, 1hr and your in grain farms and lots of coon. It don't take a big score to win either guys. We make sure to have good straight honest guides and judges in each cast. Last year we had one cast score on more than 2 coons on Friday and 300 was high score on Saturday.

We will be having a free kids bench show Saturday and a raffle Saturday with lots of neat prizes.

Guys we need all the local hunters and comp hunters from other clubs to come out and participate. The $ is guaranteed guys. Some one will win it. The more we take in here guys the more we will give away next year. We started this hunt with a stud dog auction last year. We paid out 6000 and only took in 3500. So we are gonna give what we take in each year and give it away the following year. So the more people gets involved the bigger it will get. No where else in southeastern ky you can hunt for this kinda money. Really biggest money hunt in the state I'm aware of.

We had a good one man. I think it will be even better this year. Working on a few more donations for the final four. Would like for a light maker or some sort of supplier to help out and donate something for the final four. A lot of hunters down here that buys a lot of merchandise. You never know a donation of a product could lead to a lot of sales

Can u give me the address so that I can find the club. I am planning on attending the hunt this year. Also what all do I need to do to qualify for the money hunt. I'm thinking last year I read that I had to join that club to qualify but I just wanna make sure. Also is this a UKC hunt so say if I win hunt Friday does that count in UKC as a win towards grand nite for my dog? Thanks

It is a ukc 2 nite hunt you get all your wins plus a chance to win cash and a new garmin and other prizes you have to be a member to win cash and prizes you can join at the c lub that night we will be haveing a bench show both nights
