House Speaker Nancy Pelosi plans to unveil legislation on Friday that would task a commission of psychiatrists with reviewing whether President Trump is mentally fit to remain in office — the first step of a never-used removal process spelled out by the fourth section of the 25th Amendment to the Constitution.

A brief notice released by the speaker’s office Thursday afternoon said Pelosi (D-Calif.) will roll out the extraordinary bill with Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) during a press conference on Capitol Hill.

Earlier Thursday, Pelosi teased the announcement while speaking to reporters.

“Come here tomorrow,” she said. "We’re going to be talking about the 25th Amendment.”


The speaker’s focus on Trump’s mental health comes as sources say she has privately voiced concern this week that the coronavirus-infected president may not be of sound mind.

According to sources, Pelosi was especially concerned by Trump telling his team on Tuesday afternoon to pull out of all coronavirus stimulus talks with Democrats before the election, only to spend the same night thumbing out a storm of tweets calling for more stimulus talks.


Since being hospitalized last weekend with COVID-19, Trump has been on a cocktail of experimental drugs, including dexamethasone, a strong steroid that’s generally only administered to critically ill coronavirus patients. Possible side effects from the powerful steroid include mania, psychosis and delusions.

The real reason is politics. The politicians only care about themselves and their power. They could care less about the money or where it is going. It is all about how much power or how many votes that they can buy with it. The "real reason" at the moment is the Ga Senate runoff vote coming up.

Does anyone actually think that the $10 million will be spent on a "study"? When a "study" is done who gets paid? That money is going in someone in Pakistan's pocket. I wonder who owns the company doing the study? How many man hours would it take to earn $10 million? Especially if they only make $2-5 per hr in Pakistan.
Do our congressmen/women think that the American people are so naive or stupid to believe that the $10 million dollars is going to fund some "study" about gender? It is a shame that we can't fire everyone of them that voted to give someone in Pakistan $10 million dollars of our money.
If there are any true investigative journalists left, they should find out whose pocket that $10 million is going into.

OK, I did some research and here is the story. President Trump cut off foreign aid to Pakistan at the beginning of the war against ISIS in Syria because they were using it to support ISIS. Yes we were paying money to support the terrorists that we were fighting against.
Now since ISIS has been defeated, Congress thinks that for some reason we should start giving money to Pakistan again.
Apparently Congress thinks that women in Pakistan are discriminated against and if we give Pakistan $10 million dollars they will treat their women better. Now this is the "gender study".

I would sure like to know where "our" Congress came up with the idea that America has to buy our friends? Or that "we" should pay other countries to treat "their" citizens better. Isn't this a typical liberal crackpot idea.

Now I feel sorry for the women in Pakistan because they have to wear veils and can't drive cars or have a job but I don't think that we should borrow money to give to their government in a futile attempt to change that. That is all tied into their religion and we should not try to pay them to change their religious beliefs that they have had for 1,000 years.

Have our congressional representatives all gone stark raving mad?

Dems decided again this weekend that Pelosi was the best they have and reelected her as Speaker of the House. She called in all dem congress "people" to vote. She even had several that had tested positive for Covid to come in and vote for her. Amazing that they Have to stay home when the vote is for a bill that effects all Americans but they have to show up to vote for her.

I wonder if the Georgia voters are proud now. Pelosi said on the TV this morning that they were passing a "rescue package" to rescue the American people. That is typical libertarian socialist thinking. She thinks that the government must "rescue" us because we are dependant on the government.

All that the government has to do is quit telling us that we can't go back to work and quit killing our jobs. Then we will rescue ourselves.
