Hello,
A friend asked me to pass along that her dog gets sick every time that they travel,even a short distance. The pup is 5 months, but drools and gets sick.
What will help this problem? Any advice will be appreciated and thanks in advance.

I had one that just went through this.......lasted until it was about 9 months, then it stopped other than a little drool every now and then. I just kept hauling it.

Most all dogs start out with some drooling and motion sickness. Use childrens chewable Dramamine for a few early trips but give at least 40 minutes before a trip then start out with short trips around the block. They get used to it eventually. The Dramamine is just to settle them for a few trips till they get used to it. Had a vet tell me about it for haulin a litter of pups a long distance to English days it worked like a charm and is safe. Be patient good luck.

Give a couple ginger snap cookies 10 minutes before hauling. dollar general has them. It works for motion sickness for people too. Eventually the dog won't need them, once he gets use to the motion.

Dramamine and Benadryl are safe for dogs. I would noy suggest either if you are only going a short ways. It makes them drowsy.

Meclizine and Cerenia can both be used safely for preventing motion sickness nausea in dogs. Meclizine if over the counter. Cerenia requires a prescription.
