Oh dear. Come on. He did not go to the tree, nor did he tree. There is no splitting hairs. If 3 dogs treed a oppossum and 1 dog comes into the handler in a fried, he is NOT minused or scratched for treeing off game.. he is minused track.. I was just gonna read and maybe try to learn.. but then...

Judge announces dog A is minused its (125) tree points for leaving the tree. By the time the cast reaches the tree, dog A had already went back on the tree and began treeing again and is handled.

1.) Is dog A now considered "treeing but not declared treed after tree is closed" or "coming in to tree after judge arrives"?

2.) Is dog B strike points still "shutout" or are they now available for scoring?

The tree is determined to be slick and voted to be minused.

What should the score be for each dog after this tree is scored?

how far from the tree was the cast when he minuses the dog

Since all dogs are struck in & treed . But they’re are split treed with the ABC treed together with nothing to be found ? The B&T has the Coon . So what you should do is sell those 3 walker dogs and get you a B&T . That’s what you should do .

Wow! There's a big difference in many of these scoring situations. It boils down to whether or not it's your dog taking the minus points that some you are dishing out I'm sure.

B&T should be scratched for not treeing with the walkers.

There you go trying to put your own interpretation on it. "According to UKC rules", dog doesn't have to tree or go to the tree. They only have to "come into the tree". The handler is at the tree. The dog came in to the handler. Ergo, the dog came into the tree. Why is that so hard to understand?
Of course the dog "should" be minused, but according to UKC rules you can't. We need to just accept the rules and go by them as long as they are in place. There is a time to try to change them if you don't like them but that time is not during a hunt.

We were close enough that as soon as the judge finished declaring that dog A was minused, he then declared handle your dogs. By the time he was finished speaking, dog A was back on the tree.

In UKC, all a dog has to do is "go hunting". There is no time limit. To me "go hunting" means "out of sight" but everyone has their own opinion on this. This is another case of...do you go by UKC rules or by what you think that a dog should do?
