I know there have been a lot of threads on this but my 3 year old occasionally is hoarse when we start to hunt. Maybe once a month. After he has barked for a while it seems to go away. This dog has a big mouth and doesn't bark in the pen. I have given him benedryl and it seems to help but also I have done nothing and the next time out his voice is fine. Don't know if it's an allergy or what. Anyone else had this issue. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. He has been at the vet but he didn't find anything.

I have 1 that does the same thing. Seems like after he makes a few barks [ or a dozen] he gets over it and Sounds fine

Am using the mustard and his voice is fine but then it's fine 90% of the time, so only time will tell. Had thought of bedding and also feed but seems like that ought to affect him all the time. Thanks for the suggestions.

It sounds to me like sinus drainage collects in the back of his throat. When he barks, he clears it out.
