Clover dogs

Thinking of getting a walker never owned one, wondering why the clover dogs are so popular?

I have hunted Clover Bred dogs for years.

They are well balanced track and tree dogs, and very consistent. They tend to have very good demeanors, and a lot of drive. A real clover dog isn't the stereotypical Walker that is more tree than track, a good Clover Dog is is top notch at both. A lot of Blue Tick guys like Clover Dogs.

Must say I love the clover blood. Well balanced dogs. My female has all the drive a man could ever want. Loud mouth for a female. My female goes back to tonys wild clover on her 3 gen.

Clover Dogs

I am a bluetick man, But I have owned my share of walkers. If I ever invest in another walker it will be Clover bred.

I've only hunted with one clover dog but she is nice. Almost independant to a fault at times but will tree coon and stay treed no matter what. Overall a really nice dog.

Like Blueticks, not blueticks. They start faster and in my opinion hunt better, basically take a stereotypical bluetick, turn it up a couple notches and you have a Clover Dog.

Now, they aren't always pretty dogs. They either look really really good, or they have calico ears, one blue eyes and ticks. But, a hound is a hound, and as far as I am concerned looks mean nothing if the dog has the ability.

heard they are amazing in the woods but i personally dont think they are very good looking. hunted with a few clover dogs, like them. and for a hunting dog, looks dont matter!
clover bred is a good choice, i REALLY like the wild card pups (not so much white though) but for hunting they are awesome.

I've had some real nice clover dogs in the past, this is an old Nite Champion dog I had, Cujo, he was as heavy clover bred as you could get, and he was out of the old clover stock, he was born in 94, He was a nice blanket back with a black head.

My Duke Dog is Clover on the top:

Duke is marked up real nice. At first I didn't like the white face, but he grows on you a lot. Duke is out of that White Trash Dog, who is a litter mate to Joe Newlin's Joker.

Both of these dogs had the friendliest disposition of any dogs I have ever seen, not a mean bone in their body, and loved people just as much as they loved other dogs. Both liked split treeing, and both we outstanding track and tree dogs.

As far as looks go good conformation is what I think makes a dog look good. I SAW a line of hounds a man had that were short legged, barrell chested duck footed, that were the right color, but man they were ugly. I kinda like open spotted dogs . yes , I believe a good job in the woods and the color would be very easy to get past. Thanks fellows
