I have a lot of experience with it. I am proud to call Kevin Rainwater the builder of the light a Friend. Since I have sold many of them and dealt with many customers of them. I will reserve my comments on here. But if you have any questions I will be glad to answer them. You can call me at 386-972-9446 If I don't answer right away. I will call you back as soon as possible.

Have one, like it better than any light I have had. Kevin is a great guy to deal with.

I been using one for a year and a half and really like it. It's balanced well and is plenty bright on all colors. Before that I used a boss hotspot. Have not had any issues from either light.

Conrad, you just want to go for a boat ride. LOL

Let me share why the Boss light is a nice light. The name is Kevin Rainwater. The man knows what he is doing and he does it right. Unlike some. He doesn't tweak the light above the capabilities the LED's can take to survive. Kevin has done this a long time and he knows the brightness someone needs and he adjust the light to that brightness. The red LED's seemed to be the worst and going out if the light is tweaked above its capabilities. Many do that for their videos and picture taking comparisons. But they won't last in the woods. The truth is. Even with Kevin doing his best, there are always going to be so issues with electronics in the woods. But that is where Kevin's excels. Not only can he build a good light. He takes care of the customer.

My light fell off my head several times last night. Hit cypress on the way to the ground and worked everytime I put it back on.

The Patriot is a great light. As bright as anything and will have more burn time than most, if not all.

Kevin makes a few other great lights as well. If you don't need the walk light, in my opinion, his Magnum XL is the absolute best light you can buy for the money.

Mike thanks for mentioning the Magnum Light. When we Gator hunt every year that is what we use and the friends that go with us use. Great light if you just need one color light at a reasonable price.

Well mine came in yesterday so I had to try it out last night. To my door in 2 days. Treed one and I could see it on the 2nd click of the walk light. I like the natural look of the spotlight too. You can really shine a fork of a tree and still see the detail of the bark and leaves. I could live without the laser light it's no bright eyes in the laser department but that natural light it gives off in the spotlight makes up for it no doubt. Heck of a light imo.

Boss Patriot

First let me say that I have not seen the Patriot in action after dark and in the Woods.....where it counts. But I know without a doubt its a Top Notch Light.
I have Owned Several Boss Hotspots, 1 Boss Magnum XL and a couple other of the earlier Model Boss Lights and the Main Beam was as good as you would need or want. I will be Buying the Patriot in the near future. I have a few Friends in Ky that Own the Patriot and they tell me its the Best Light they have ever used.
As Bruce mentioned.....You will have a few problems or glitches in Electronics including Lights......But if you do with a Boss Light just contact Kevin and he will get you fixed up.

I will add that while I was at Walker Days and Black & Tan Days I got a chance to look at all the Lights available. Out of all the Lights there I liked the Boss Lights and the Razor5 Lights the Best.....I ended up Buying the Razor5 and that was because it was on my Favorite Bump Cap....the ERB 67.
The Boss Patriot was Very Comfortable & Balanced....it was also Simple to operate and only 1 Color ( Red ) which is what I like.......Who needs 3 or 4 Colors....too many switches etc. to operate......thats my opinion.
I like a Belt or Box Light during Winter Time......thats where a Boss Light will Win over the other Lights for me because they still offer that option and they are Small & Compact ( I looked at one at B&T Days )

Tim

Just out of curiosity do you have a storage building full of lights you have bought over the years? I know nobody could have worn out that many lights. Lol.

No Storage Building here......just a 3 Car Garage with only about 6 Lights hanging in there....Sold all but those and probably going to Sell about 3 more.
They sure aren't worn out either...
I just like to try New Things.....😉

There are people out there that love lights. Some love one type more than another.

Here is a picture of half a friends light closet. Other half is just as full of lights.

How times have changed. I remember hunting with a $2.95 headlight so dim I could barely see where I was walking. I didn't have $1.25 for a new six-volt battery. The light I bought last year cost 7 times what I paid for my first truck.

He is a local guy that guides people on Hog and Gator hunts along with Turkey and a few other critters. God's County Outfitters is the name of his Guide Service. The are on the outdoor channel from time to time. They are some good people.

Is it possible to get the patriot with a rheostat instead of the 4 click option? I have an older boss with one and really like it vs the 3/4 clicks that are on most lights. I'm sure there is a good reason but I'm surprised more lights don't have a rheostat.

Boss

I just Got the Boss Magnum XL in the very small Box Light.
There is No Color Module and I like that.
This is really all the Light you need.
Great little Light.

Tim, I know your a Man that loves a BRIGHT light. We have talked several times over the years about that. I know from working with Kevin promoting the Boss Light. That being in competition with other lights. We talked nothing but brightness and which one is brighter. The truth is that I have a Patriot Light I use. I probably use that light backwards from most people. I walk with the High Main beam because of our snake population. I hardly every use the main beam at the tree because it is too bright. I use the the walk light on low or the red LED to find the coon.
The Magnum Light you mentioned for half the price of the other lights out there, including our Patroit Light. Is one heck of a deal.

Bruce
You are Correct on me liking a Bright Light, But Only during the Winter time. During the Summer I like a Dim Light.
I believe this Boss XL to be the Best Bang for your $$.
Its all you need and even though there is No Walklight Module, I can still see perfectly to Walk.
I Love the Main Beam Brightness and Tint of it.

I do wish Kevin would offer the ERB #67 Bump Cap as an option instead of the Ridgeline Bump. I know several Guys that prefer the ERB ......Including me....😉
That was the Deciding Factor for me when I was Comparing the Razor5 & Boss Patriot .
Take Care
Tim

Tim we are thinking alike. We migrated to the ridge line several years ago and most of the other guys filled. I got some youth lights in yesterday that had the 67 Erb helmet. Short bill and a much looking hat. Kevin and I will be discussing this.
