LA 200 is a antibiotic, unless the dog is horse from an infection then it does you no good and it has to be certain strains of infections. Normally its caused from some sort of inflammation, "strained from barking" it needs steroids not antibiotics. More than anything keep it quite and if it's from barking it will be fine.

Take a small spray bottle that you can get to the back of their throat and put la 200 spray down throat and take water away for a couple hours does wonders 3 days in a row. Cures up those inflamed vocal cords.

LA like Michael said is an ANTIBIOTIC unless the dog has an infection caused by a bacteria it does nothing. Feel to see if it's lymph nodes in the neck are swollen. Will usually let you know. If they are not and you are determined to to give medicine prednisone to suppress the bodies immune responce and remidyl for inflammation. This treats it for allergy related and over barking. Complete vocal rest is the single best thing you can do. If the dog is a Barker it is caused by that if it just came on more suddenly or it just isn't as loud as normal it can be allergy related. Dogs are no different than people. Dogs that have completely lost their voice moving them indoors into a clean air conditioned environment can also help.
If you have any bedding in the dogs kennel wood chips, shavings straw ect get rid of it, the dust can make it worse.

You can try the predisone and remadyl it would be your best bet. Will require a trip to the vet to get them but it does work pretty well. That and keeping him quiet.
