We struck this bear along an old logging road. It took us through a bunch of country and treed not to far from where we could get a truck close. Dogs did an awesome job.

We only got three hounds on this one. There were no road crossings to turn more in. The three of them did a good job though.

We treed one on Saturday. It was a pretty cold track and we weren't able to get everybody going on it. Three of the older dogs, Sandy, Gambler, Stifler, and one younger dog, Chrome, got it figured out and cold trailed it out of hearing. They got it treed and we had a pretty big hike up the mountain to get to them. It was good experience for Chrome to get to work a bad track like that with the older more experienced dogs and finish it at a tree. He is coming along very nicely and continues to improve every weekend.

He was way up in a huge cedar tree and this is the best picture I could get of him.

We missed a couple weekends of hunting due to work and such. Got to go this weekend. We've been hunting early in the morning and in the evenings to escape the heat. Got one up a tree on an evening hunt after a good rain, so it was fairly cool. One more weekend before our pursuit season is over.

We can start here Sept 15th. My neck starts to swell and I'm usually trashin' out on the antlered critters with my bow that time of year. LOL. But I hope to get out a few times with the dogs this fall and maybe knock one out to them. I think Brian might be planning to get some bear hunting in up north this fall too.

Back home now and had some time to get pics loaded. The trip was a success once again. Our first tree was a short run. Smoke went treed before we got any other hounds on the strike. He went about 300 yards.

Suprize! There is three in the tree.

Don's bear was a real runner. It took us miles through the country. The dogs prevailed and put it in a tree.

Happy hunter
