I am not hunting and i don't want the dog for hunting at all. I have a big yard for him to run around and want a dog for our house

Why in the world would you want a hound for a pet/house dog. They are bred and meant for hunting. While they can be friendly and kept in house they will always have the drive to hunt. There must be thousands of dogs looking for a home at the shelters that would make a more suitable pet. JMO

P.S unless you have 50 or more acre back yard he would not be happy
