30 days until Oct 1.. Michigan Kill season opens!!

Hard to believe it's Sept 1 and Oct 1 is the next stop on the coon hunting calendar..

Have my license bought and hoping to enjoy another season treeing coons in one of the nicest places to hunt in the country!!

Always wanted to coonhunt in Michigan! If a guy pulled a camper up there and wanted to hunt 3 or 4 nights don't really care about how many coon killed just like to tree a bunch could he find a place to camp close to good hunting on National Forest land or something? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Be coming from the mountains of SE Kentucky. Thanks in advance.

I have some property in my family in Michigan , I loved to go hunting up there, I once went with some local hunters but my dogs ranged too far one night about 600 yards and got treed by a mans barn, They all left me alone to get my dogs so I went to the mans home and asked for permission to retrieve, first words out of his mouth was asking if the ones who left me were with me I said no they left me alone and I was from Tennessee , he told me the story about the problem he had with them driving thru his fields killing deer but said if I wanted to hunt I was welcome to do so anytime on his 3000 acres . There are some super nice farmers in Michigan.

Lonesome dog. It’s $161 for the base license, $15 for a furbearer tag and $1 for a sportsmen’s card.

I’ve never camped up there, but sure it’s possible. I have stayed in a motel a few times hunting way up north.
