White there are several way to accomplish this and there are a couple different files you have to deal with. Probably the most common and the easiest ones to delete is the dog tracks and the actual handheld track.
I personally like using the TRIP COMPUTER found on the home page. The reason why is when you go there it will show you a percentage of tracks you are clearing and that give you an indication if that is really the problem or not. General above 80% with maps loaded and it needs to be cleared. Just push the reset button and it should clear. I always suggest looking at it again and make sure the percentage resets to 0% because talking to many over the phone I have them reset it and it doesn't reset so I am not sure what they are pushing.
Next way is going to TRACK MANAGER and you have 4 things there. Current Track which is the handheld, dog tracks which also can be cleared from the starting new hunt button, contract tracks and archived tracks. Select each one and delete them
Now for those that have installed different maps on the handheld you have to plug it into the computer and go into the operating system of the handheld and take out the unwanted files, if there are any. This would apply if you downloaded birdseye to your handheld and then got a state card. Caution here. You remove the wrong file and it will never work again. Birdseye files are .JNX files and you find them with that file name. Also you can search the files by date and see what you might have added and not known you have. This will only come into play if you have been on the computer trying to upload different maps in it.
You can go as far and when you turn it on have the start up screen show your phone number and offer a reward if someone finds it. Thing is I try to stay away from sharing that info as you make a wrong move in there and you trashed your Garmin.
