Grandmasters Winner Penney Pups

Thanks to everyone who bought pups. They are all spoken for unless someone backs out. They are 8 weeks old and have had 9 way shots and are picture of health. They look like Penney and Rocket. Penney won 3rd last weekend at a RQE a week after weaning the pups. Rex won 3rd last month at the Valders RQE this also made him a Nt Ch.
Duane took Rocket bear hunting twice and said he lead the pack. Rocket is from the first cross of Rex and Penney and is an extremely good trackdog and a layup artist. He is very independent too. Runs and trees off body scent.
A special thanks to Jr. Deventer who selected and bred Penney's ancesters. Penney is proof that selection and DNA are the key to superiority.

This last litter only had 2 females and I think Ken was booked 13 people deep that wanted just females.

Enjoyed tagging along with Rocket, Roxy and Penny on Monday night, but I didn't have to make that long walk... I was fortunate enough to tag along with Penny on Tues and Wed night also... only thing she wants to do when she comes out of the box is "get to work".

You typically don't have to make that long of a walk to Rocket's trees. The blue dog must of taught him that.

I really enjoyed the hunt. I hope I can tag along again some time... I can't wait until the leaves drop..

Yes, I understand that Rocket, T-Rex and Penny learned everything they know from a blue dog.... I wonder if Ken's pup trainer is also blue...

Rocket Semen

Duane Kreklow owns The Rocket, 608-576-8024

Duane hunted him with Chris Elswinger on bear this summer and said that Rocket did outstanding on running bears. He has speed, stamina and runs a track to catch.

Krelow's Klear Kry Rocket

It is a sad day for those of us that admire superior ability in our dogs as Rocket was hit on the road and killed last night in a competition hunt. He just won first place on Friday night and the bench show on Sat. He was more than an highly intelligent outstanding coon dog and recently a bear dog. He would have been 2 years old on Christmas day.
He was a member of Duane's family and will be missed.

My dad was telling me more stories about him running bear last night when we were hunting and I read this this morning. Sorry to hear of such a loss.

With triumph there is devistation

This sure is a tough thing to handle that's for sure. I was so proud of him friday night and getting that 1st place win on him with 662.5+ and winning Best of Show Male on Saturday finishing him to Show Champion. The dog had a personality second to none and just wanted to be your best buddy at all times. I've hunted with the guide and his land numerous times and never would imagine something like this to ever happen. Like Ken said, he wasn't even 2yrs old and we was definitely getting to that real fun stage to hunt. It will be very hard to pull into Duane's and not have him greeting me when I get out of the car like he did so many times. He had shown us so much so early and was going to show us even more. We can thank god that we had the opportunity to hunt a good young dog and continue enjoying the sport we love. Rest in Peace Rocket. I'm really sorry Buddy.

Very sorry for your loss guys. I have been keeping an eye on Rocket as a possible future stud as he seemed to have all the natural ability of his mother and the Deventer dogs. Good ones are always hard to find and even harder to replace.

George

Thank you for those words George. We've been hunting Rocket's half/littermate brother Preacher Dan(Deventer's Dan x Penney). We (Duane) also have Rocket's younger brother Turbo on our hunting plan, one step/bark at a time. The Blue dog who trained/helped Rocket has gotten a liking to Turbo and looks forward to showing him the ropes like his big brother did.

Klear Kry Kreklow's Turbo

He is progressing nicely for a 6month puppy. We are at the stage of singling him out individually. Time will tell, but his owner is very happy with him. Here are a couple more video's and a picture of him.

Friday 13th. Milk jug coon

After making the 1st tree of the night we recasted the 2 hounds north and a couple minutes later Turbo opened up and started treeing, half a minute later the other dog joined in. Upon arrival we get to them and see them barking at this old metal farm milk jug in the woods. Just when you think you've seen it all. Don't mind the moron trying to squall in this video.
