I suppose the only rule change that remotely is beneficial to deep and lonely is the countdown that still allows a dog 2 minutes to cover before it receives less points but it benefits the dog that actually treed a coon and those that are doing the work not just coming in to tree because something else is barking treed. It seems that you must be speaking of dogs having the ability to score 75 on trees nearly 5 minutes late. That change benefits the coondog and takes away the me too advantage, nothing to do with deep and lonely.
