seen a lot of hounds raised up as house dogs

Most seem smarter and just because a dog minds doesn't mean they can't tree Coon. Some people around my area think to have a good dog it must be a pain to handle. I have raised some inside but regardless of its to dumb to mind inside or outside it ain't going to be at my place. My dad raises most of his pups about half inside half out until they start huntin. If seems to have good luck and they handle for him great.

Do you think it effects their hunting?

I do at he moment since I currently live in town so they are unable to stay outside. The problem I see with it is them not be climiatized to the extreme heat or cold

I have one that has been kept inside his whole life. He knows what the deal is when it's getting dark and he gets loaded in the box. I definitely think that it has helped with his handles. I take him for walks without a leash and just let him out in the yard and he usually sticks around. Out in the woods I can call him back in from pretty far out if he is getting to close to a road, a house, or somewhere he isn't supposed to be. Also with the amount of deer and other critters around he just looks at them but won't go running after them. Overall i think it helps with them liking you and wanting to please you. My brothers dog has been kept inside as well and she gets all fired up as soon as he starts putting on his hunting clothes. I just got a new puppy to train and he will be in the house as well so we shall see how it goes this time around.

I don't feel it does. Ruby is a Nitech, Grfch, Grch and HTX.
As far as extreme heat or cold, we're fair weather hunters. But until just about a month ago, we would take the dogs back a dead end rd and let them run 3 to 7 miles 3 to 5 times a wk. We haul them in crates inside the Jeep. If u hauled them in a box in the back of a pickup, it might be a problem in the cold.
