make a pet out of him and get another young dog to work with .. if you do want to hunt him in the hot weather make one drop and go home . make sure you carry a theromater to check and make sure he isnt getting to hot .the sad truth is some never make a full recovery no matter what you do or how much money you spend on them ..good luck.

Have anyone heard of the long horn tick. Saw it on tv this weekend in Mo. They are in Arkansas. Deadly if not found on the dog.

Roy I read a thing on the news the other day about this tick that was sent from Arkansas to OSU, they I don't think they are any more dangerous than any other tick. They have been out East for while and are spreading. First discovered in NJ and have been found in a few other states now.

I just saw on Fox, fleas and ticks are becoming a real concern. There is nothing they can do about it.

Oh my goodness, where has Fox been? I have been concerned about fleas and ticks for the past 10 years.

Stop killing possums. They eat ticks. Tar, I'm talking to you.

I have talked my vet into giving the Imizol shots. A shot wait 15 days and get another shot along with another round of Doxy. She said I would have to buy the whole bottle. So if anyone needs some will have it in about a week.

Update

My Preacher dog is doing pretty well since the Doxy treatment. Handling the heat pretty well but it seems he is not the track dog on a cold track that he was. Hits tracks now that he just can't move. Maybe it's not so much worse than before but it seems like it. I have heard that the Doxy can mess with the ability to smell. Don't know it that's the reason or if it will get better. He still trees coons but not quite the style I was used to.
