Maybe a good one maybe not?

Got several young dogs a few aren’t starting as fast and I don’t have an old broke dog to run with them. How do you know when to give up on a young dog. 2 of them acted scared of a caged coon one night I should have probably showed them it during the day first but most pups would get right on it I thought... there 8 and 11 months and come from great stock but I know there will always be some culls any advice will help. I heard the ones that go on to win start early and they start fast like 6 months old
