I believe the Outlaw blood is alive and well and going by several names these days such as Moonlight, Nighty Nite, and even many of the Pepper dogs from the famous cross between Lil Pepper and Moonlight Kate. Kate was a grand daughter to Outlaw Billy the Kid so any dog with Moonlight Kate or her Daughter Pepper Ann has plenty of Outlaw blood in their veins. The names of particular lines of redbones change over the years when people stick their kennel name on pups they buy from a particular line of dogs....the names may change...but the blood and dna inside those dogs remains the same and many of the biggest winners today go back to the Outlaw dogs of yesterday. I dearly love this line and those responsible for creating it and promoting it over the years. I plan on keeping the Outlaw line alive, both in name, and performance and will try to improve upon the solid foundation that others before me worked so hard to create. I hope many others will join me and do the same. Cherry here is a typical Outlaw dog and I believe she may have a bright future. Here is a pup from the 3rd cross I made in the last 3 years using frozen 20 yr old semen from Dual Grand Ch Outlaw Billy The Kid. The 1st 20 yr old Billy semen pup made NT.CH. with 3 first place wins as a one year old.
The 2nd 20 yr old Billy semen pup I started made NT.CH. with 2 firsts and a 2nd as a 1 yr old. ( Amos died of a brain annurism)
And now I would like to introduce a pup from the 3rd cross using 20 yr old Billy semen. I have entered her in 5 UKC hunts and she finished to Nt.Ch. with 3 first place wins and one PKC $50 entry fee hunt in which she also won 1st place.
Her name is Outlaw Cherry Bomb.
Except for competition hunts, Cherry is being hunted strictly alone at this point. Here are some videos of her from a few drops last week and this weekend. Every drop I make with her is under actual nite hunt conditions. All coons are wild and not released or staged in a cage and I don't walk her anywhere. She gets sent from the road into the woods or sent across fields to the woods, sometimes 600-700 yards away. She fires like a shot everytime and probably has more drive than any dog I have hunted at her age. She is smart, she is quick, she is explosive, and she is loud.
This is Typical of most of the outlaw dogs I have hunted over the years and I trained them all just like Cherry. You get out what you put in and she has the best of the old and new blood that all goes back to Outlaw Jesse multiple times top and bottom.
Last fall I partnered with Keith Bowling on Cherry and he took her and worked her in the hills and thin coon through the winter and now she is back in the patch woods and thick coon. We both think she is going to be pretty special.
She is heavy line bred and her mother was as well so i think her traits should be locked in pretty solid giving her the potential to be a powerful reproducer.

Cherry trees after a hot track. Does not tree as hard as usual and you don't see it in the video because I never walked up to the tree, but after camera shuts off I find out why.
There was a bunch of nails sticking out where someone had nailed steps on for a tree stand. the wood had rotted but nails were still there and the back side of the tree was covered in blood and when I checked her feet both front feet had been punctured...so i think she wasn't sure why the tree had hurt her but she kept treeing anyway.
