Do you carry a side arm while hunting?

Who carries a side arm when they hunt? I carry enough stuff in the woods as t is but still carry a pistol. I’m not paranoid or Hunt in a rough area, it’s just something I’ve always done.

I do. Mostly summertime yotes. They cone in and have little fear here. Amazing, crack a round off and they beat it.

I always do. We have bears, snakes, coyotes possibly mountain lions and the biggest problem is drunken drug heads! Never needed it but it's nice to know I have backup because I mostly hunt by my self.

I have a pistol on me almost everywhere I go. Especially in the woods.

Absolutely!! I don’t leave home without mine anymore either way. A man can’t fight off a gun or a knife with their fists alone. I have two little girls & a wife that I protect inside & outside our home. Plus, where I run my hounds & hunt is public land & there’s a bunch of idiots there at night. An example, last night there was 7 young kids that didn’t look old enough to be off the tit let alone have a drivers license. They were drag racing their “newly daddy bought” diesel trucks. I had just dropped he tailgate when they started. I shut it & moved to the northern side of the property. Long story short, you don’t know when someone is going to act stupid or get brave anymore.

Same here. Wherever I go I have one, including hunting. I know several guys loca that I hunt with some that don’t carry in the woods with them. In fact of the guys I hunt with here local I’m usually the only one who carries a pistol. Like others have said, these days you just never know.

I'm not worried about needing one. More than likely, you'd be shot from a distance by someone you don't see. If you come up to my truck, my unregistered ball bat will work fine.
