Revision to the Rules - 2019 Champions Classic

CHAMPIONS CLASSIC BREED HUNT Nomination Fee - In order to qualify each dog must have a $100 nomination fee paid one week prior to the hunt. At least one dog owner must be a member of the ABTCHA prior to entering the hunt. All entries will be held in escrow by the ABTCHA Treasurer. When and Where - Wednesday night before B&T Days at the host site. The host club will be paid $200 from the escrow account to compensate for the loss of PKC entries that typically help the host club recoup money spent on renting the grounds. The club will assist in the effort to provide 4 guides and 4 judges if needed. Each guide will be paid $50 from escrow and each judge will be paid $50 from escrow. No pay for either for the 90 minute late round. If no volunteer for the late round, a judge and guide will be drawn from a hat. The only automatic qualifier for the Champions Classic Hunt would be the UKC Overall World Nite Hunt Champion.
The King and Queen of Black Days will receive 2 cast wins each and 1 queen of hunt and king of hunt each.
The High Scoring Male and Female of the UKC World Hunt will receive 2 cast wins and 1 queen of hunt and king of hunt each.
The top 16 in the Champions Classic Sectional standings will be eligible to compete in the Champions Classic on Wednesday at ABTCHA Black and Tan Days.
Point System as follows: The sectional point system works as follows: 1 point for each plus point cast win at a B&T Sectional. Sectionals taking place after the first weekend in April count towards next year’s standings. The paperwork that accompanies a Sectional will also include a form to list all plus point; B&T cast winners along with the winning score. A running total of the points will be posted to ABTCHA and UKC website weekly by the hunt chairman. Dogs deceased, injured, or in heat will be replaced by the next dog in line in the sectional point standings and entry fee returned as long as all reasonable efforts are made to notify the hunt chairman in time to replace the dog. Forfeited entry fees will be split evenly among the final 4. Spots may be filled on the grounds in order of the highest sectional point system dog present. In the event of a sectional point system tie, the first tie breaker will be the most King/Queen of Hunt wins. The second tie breaker will be most cast win points. The third tie breaker will be a coin flip. Rules - UKC open registered rules, a 90 minute early round, and a 90 minute late round. A dog does not need plus points to win either cast. If no winner after the late round, dogs move into 1 hr sudden death (first dog to receive first tree plus point’s wins. Trees will be scored in the order they are called in the event of a split tree). If no winner after 1 hour sudden death, remaining cast members split the pot. If a dog minus’ out in the 1 hr final cast, it will receive 4th place pay, 2nd dog to minus out 3rd place pay, etc. Non-hunting guides and judges will be used on each cast. A 2 person panel will accompany the final cast to the woods. Minimum Payout - 1st place $1,000. One raffle will be held for 2 weeks during the year to supplement the purse. The raffle will be held online and in conjunction with a major UKC event. 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place pay will be determined after final entry fee plus raffle money calculations.

The condensed version of the revision is below:

Basically the only change with the Champions Classic would be with the automatic qualifiers.
If the Black and Tan Association has a overall U.K.C. World Nite Hunt Champion that will be the one and only qualifier.

The King and Queen of Hunt at Black and Tan Days receives 2 cast wins and 1 King or Queen of Hunt.

The U.K.C. Black and Tan World Champion Male and Female will also receive 2 cast wins and 1 King or Queen of Hunt.

Everything else with the rules will remain the same.

Thanks and Good Luck

UKC open registered rules, a 2 hr early round, and a 1 hr late round. A dog does not need plus points to win either cast. If no winner after the 1 hr late round, dogs move into 1 hr sudden death (first dog to receive first tree plus point’s wins. Dogs cannot minus out during the 1 hr sudden death.

My Question is how can a dog Minus out when a dog can win either cast with no plus points to win.

What was wrong with the old format just wondering.

Should of been 90 minute early and 90 minute late. My mistake.

I would be more than willing to visit with you on a call to talk about anything else. My number is 731-589-3581, if I don't answer please leave a message.
