Your rite Coons & Bear are like kids allways into something they just cannot help themselfs.

Those coons are pretty fair here in our back yard but they allways have something to eat I just called about buying somemore corn to help feed them this winter so its not so hard on them.

Then I have some Tinhorns that go under the roads I also put corn out there when it gets real bad I wonder how they make it with some of the winters we get anymore once they find that food its on they will start coming most everynight to eat.

Water runs threw them under the roads they put them most the time in low places so the roads dont flood out.

Well I had called them culverts myself all my life until Mr Ed Brown informed me they were tinhorns one night we were hunting & he said them dogs had run that coon into a tinhorn I thought what in the world is that. So I said Im dumb can you show me a tinhorn.

So we both learned something new davecat, I had never heard them called that either.

davecat heres a fair Bear from Utah I left in the Freezer when I moved Home

This is the Bear on the ground.

This Lion killed the dog in the above pix he got to close back in the good ol days the WILD WILD WEST !

nice pics Ed

We have never got a chance to run a bear in snow. Got a chance to run lion over 30 years ago and want to do it again next year. The person who lived in Idaho where we hunted passed away. After that many years and not going since I am trying to find a place to hunt lion thats not so hard on my artificial parts. I didnt get a lion but we treed a smaller one and I chose not to shoot it. I do have the pics somewhere which I am glad I have. We have to get together some time soon the and share bull---- stories. You have more pics than anyone I know and wish I had taken half that many. My wife is alot better today and my son went to work so Monday it will (the bear)finally happen. Seems like things never work out like I plan sometimes or take longer. Take care.

davecat, sure would like to set down with you sometime & take some notes from you maybe we can get a hunt setup before to long.

I have allways tryed to pack a cam. with me never no when something great might happen,I have alot of old pixs I will post on here this winter that go back 35+ yrs. but theres been times I didnt have a cam. so I missed out on some great photos now if I cant make the tree I send the cam. in with someone else.My wife set down a few yrs ago & put all our pixs from out West together I'll dig in & post some later on.

WAY TO GO !!!!!!!!

I spoke with Josh Guffey tonight & he was telling me that he had been to a club & showed ((RED WILLY & CANNOT REMEMBER THE GIPS NAME)).

Both these young dogs are off Light'in, One is off Queen & he won Class & Breed tonight.Red Willy is just turned 13 months Old.

The gip has won 2 Best of shows now & this is the only shows she has been in she is off Light'in & Glory.

(((C O N G R A D S !!!!!!! JOSH)))..... Not only is Light'in throwing dogs that are getting it done in the woods hes also throwing dogs that get it done on the plywood to boot.

Theres a BUNCH of Show Champion off the ol boy Im sure when there age is rite we will be hearing about Jazz,Red Willy, & This 11 month ol Gip doing there winning in the woods.

Thanks Again For Putting Your Time Into A Light'in Hound Josh !!!!!

I think Jazz has won just about everything hes been put in.

This pixs was made in the winter hes got great color also.

Here is the bear that I get to mount upside down and make into a coffee table. From left to right is Tom (a friend ) My brother Mike and my nephew Dave. The Redbone looking is Dozer. The other is Kid Rock. He hate bears so much he wont ever take his eyes off them even when they are dead. Hes been rolled over a few times and doesnt trust them at all. The other dogs are Trigger a 1 year old Plott. Zena a 3 year old Plott and Wookie a 3 year old Plott and German Shorthair cross. My brother shot this last Sunday.

Nice Bear looks like ya'll were having FUN.

Was this Bear killed in WI ? them Plotts are tuff on them Bears ran them out west with Reddogs they have GRIT.

This was a Sow rite & what was her weight about 350 ?

Send me a pix when you get the coffee Table done.That will be cool.

dont remember the weight but I think it dressed around the 250 # mark. I cant say anything bad about those Plotts. Cold nosed track driving bear fighting machines. But so are these Redbones. I had Plotts but they were all dead by the age of 3. I had bad luck with them. They were good but always got killed. This bear was shot in Wisconsin on the last Sunday of the season. We never counted how many bear we treed (its bad luck) but we were lucky again and treed more bear than there was days in the season. Had 3 way split tree this year and a 4 way split tree last year. Even treed a layup I guess you would call it. Bear was sleeping and the dogs never open on the track and all and started treeing. All of the dogs are good open track dogs.That Plott mix got rolled by a nice bear and when that bear tried to climb the dog was so mad he pulled that bear right out of the tree by himself just to get rolled over again. He suffered a few bites that just made him hate bear more yet. Kid Rock is so funny to watch when the bear is dead. He just doesnt trust them bear. He will never take his eyes off of them even when dead. Each one of those dogs pull hair and have treed bear by themselves. I just wish they were all Red colored. Take care Ed.

Your rite Both these breeds have GRIT !

Have you ever heard of a man in Idaho by the name Obe Cory he wrote the book Bear Tracker ? I met him while living in Utah.

Obe had some of the tuffest Plotts I had ever seen I had a little gip out of that line that we put seems like 175 Stiches in her I'll find a pixs of her & you can see where her noise was put back together from getting a REAL BEATING from a ol Boar Bear.

Her name was brendy, Black Back, Brindle legs & Brindle muzzle she only weight around 45 pounds on a good day but let me tell you she could get in there & bite a Bear 2-3 time while other dogs were only biteing once she was one tuff little gal NO QUIT in her.

Brendy was all of Obes dogs & let me tell you he sure CULD HARD but thats the reason he had what he had to eat his feed you better have your game face on EVERYDAY for him those dogs made his living for him he Guided alot of hunts for many yrs. until he passed away.

I'll find these pixs in a few days also had a Black & Tan that got beat up so bad he quit this Bear just about killed him.Man he was a mess from head to toe this Bear even bit him threw the foot & lost one of his toes & busted his foot so bad he couldnt hardly walk anymore.

This is one of the best Crosses I have ever made in my life these pups are speaking for themselfs.

This same cross Reproduced the 2011 Thursday Night High Scoring Male AT 2011 NATIONAL REDBONE DAYS & 2nd Place Thursday & 7th Place Friday.

Weve had guys tell us if your pup isnt treeing DONT blame him or her better look at the HANDLER OR TRAINER this is what we have been told from folks.
