A good wife and coon dog, Two things hard to find,
One or the other, seems most of the time.
A good wife stays home a tending the kids,
Cleaning and cooking ever what needs did.
A good dog waits for the master to come,
To go a huntin to tree and to run.
Hunted sixty two nights once, never missed a beat,
A coon dog in training, I went without sleep.
My wife got sore, the first ever showed,
I was sure she was mad she was packing her clothes.
I thought real hard, and at a fast pace,
Had to change her mind, she was leaving this place.
So I grabbed a bag and in clothes I threw,
Said if you’re a leaving, I’m going with you.
Now twenty seven years, and we’re still together,
Happy as frogs in a pond, croaking for pleasure.
I’m still a huntin as much as I can
Tried the sixty two once but never again.
A lesson well learned, if supper you get,
Leave the dogs in the pen, till mama you pet

Morning all,

I have to admit I stole the poem but not too many things hit closer to home than that.

Well now down to 25 this morning and windy as the dickens. We were very fortunate at the house to not lose power.

Shawn found me a nice looking Redtick in TN might have to make a drive down there Saturday to try him out.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Prayers to all in need.

Good afternoon all,

Hope everyone is enjoying this nice day out.

Found a new nice dogs which are too far away but the hunt continues on. Waiting for guy to come get Juice anyways so no huge hurry. Wait and see what panhandling goes on at Southern English days.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and prayers to all in need.

ABSOLUTELY TRUE STORY HEARD ON A WISCONSIN RADIO STATION REPORTING ON THE INCIDENT.

A guy buys a new Lincoln Navigator for $42,500.00 with monthly payments of $560.00. He and a friend go duck hunting in upper Wisconsin .

It's mid-winter and of course all of the lakes are frozen.

These two guys go out on the ice with their GUNS, a DOG, and of course the new NAVIGATOR

They decide they want to make a natural looking open water area for the ducks to focus on, something for the decoys to float on.

Now making a hole in the ice large enough to invite a passing duck, is going to take a little more power than the average drill auger can produce.

So out of the back of the new Navigator comes a stick of dynamite with a short 40 second-fuse.

Our two Rocket Scientists afraid they might slip on the ice while trying to run away after lighting the fuse decide on the following course of action:
They light the 40 second fuse; then,
With a mighty thrust,
They throw the stick of dynamite
As far away as possible.

Remember a couple of paragraphs back when I mentioned the NAVIGATOR, the GUNS, and the DOG...?

Let's talk about the dog:

A highly trained Black Lab used for RETRIEVING; especially things thrown by the owner. You guessed it. The dog takes off across the ice at a high rate of speed and grabs the stick of dynamite, with the burning 40-second fuse just as it hits the ice.

The two men swallow, blink, start waving their arms and, with veins in their necks swelling to resemble stalks of rhubarb, scream and holler at the dog to stop. The dog, now apparently cheered on by his master, keeps coming. One hunter panics, grabs the shotgun and shoots the dog. The shotgun is loaded with #8 bird shot, hardly big enough to stop a Black Lab.

The dog stops for a moment, slightly confused, then continues on.

Another shot, and this time the dog, still standing, becomes really confused and of course terrified, thinks these two geniuses have gone insane!!!!!!

The dog takes off to find cover, UNDER the brand new Navigator.

The men continue to scream as they run. The red hot exhaust pipe on the truck touches the dog's rear end. He yelps, drops the dynamite under the truck and takes off after his master.

Then KA BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

The truck is blown to bits and sinks to the bottom of the lake, leaving the two idiots standing there with 'I can't believe this just happened' looks on their faces.

The insurance company says that sinking a vehicle in a lake by illegal use of explosives is NOT COVERED by the policy. And the owner still had yet to make the first of those $560.00 a month payments.
..
The dog is okay....doing fine.

And you thought all Rednecks lived in the South.....

A man receives a text from his neighbor: “I am so sorry Bob, I have to confess, I’ve been tapping your wife. I’ve been doing it day and night when you're not around. In fact, more than you. I'm not getting any at home, but that's no excuse. I can no longer live with the guilt. I hope you will accept my sincerest apology. I promise that it won't happen again.”

The man, anguished and betrayed, went into his bedroom, grabbed his gun, and without a word, shot his wife and killed her.

A few moments later, a second text came in:

“**** autocorrect. I meant wifi, not wife.”

Hello Friends!

SO sorry I was gone so long, you were all in my Prayers and I missed you. LONG few days. Mum had a health crisis.... Tues am she got to the hosp. just in time to save her and that is where I have been. SHe got a blood infection and went into septic shock. Her fever was 104 plus and the blood pressure too low to support life so had to go on scary meds...to raise the BP...and it worked. In the mean time heavy dudty antibiotics to fight the infection. It appears to have started as bladder infection and gone from there. Her lungs are a bit off but NO WHERE near as bad as LAST MArch! She is out of ICU but in hosp till the IV meds are done, probably thru the week. She is less weak than last yr so praying she can go RIGHT home and not to rehab and need no care or O2. I'm home thru Monday night barring emerg. RESTING! Bob has colonoscopy Monday (yippee!) so I have to take him then anyway... but I've told the fam. I will go into town at a drop of the hat next few weeks to care for her at home or in hosp... so if I disappear it MAY not be a BAD thing but a good... we will see and I hope her tyranical behavior...LOL... already calling for me to bring her this and that (YAY)... will continue and I will have to work HARD with her at her home weekends and any days needed for a LONG TIME!
I see there are lots of pix on here...and also posts but I'll probably take the weekend to CATCH up!
Have a GREAT night all and HappyHunting,
thanks for the Prayers too... cause we
surely have to believe that is what saved her
Heather
