Hey Tim I got that male from my buddy yesterday. He sure acts good, pretty easy to look at too. He had a hard time being by hisself in that big 12x12 pen last night, he's got a monster horn on him, all in all a good made, loud pup. He'll get a shot here. Thanks again, you'll be hearing from me.

Had a good trip and a great time visiting with many old friends and some new ones. We set up camp with the Byrd, Brooks and Hutchisons on one of the busiest corners at AO. Lots of hunters stopped by to get in some shade and tell some stories. Russ Downing stopped by and we visited for a while. Dave Dean stopped by twice and we had some very interesting conversations about dogs and bloodlines of the past and present. Lance and Dana Byrd bought one of the Spanky pups from Dave, sure was a good looking pup and smart as a whip. Russ Vernon and Mr Lopez stopped by for a chat. There were so many others that I can't remember their names. We had a great time and plan on going back next year..........Tim

Alot of good things came from this weekend. Tim without you and Paul none of this would be possible. The fellowship was great and the friends can not be replaced. I just hate Jazz came in heat after all that work Hutch put in. Did any other mad dog hounds hunt besides the three I know of?

Sounds like a suspencefull weekend for the Mad Dog team. Glad Robbie got Toby back.
I guess Turk will have pups long after he is gone. Glad you had him collected. Thinking that down the road if we want we have the oppertunity to cross back on him with a grand-daughter.
Timmy is still out east working the hurricane aftermath.
Ive been hunting a little and when I can't hunt I am roading the dogs.
Last night Smoke and Robin split from each other about 30 feet apart and they both had a coon. Sounded like they were trying to out tree each other. Gives you a good feeling to walk in and see two dogs hold that kind of pressure.

Got a phone call from Brian Hutchison yesterday, he said that he contacted Gordon Hale about buying Gordies female (Turk x Jill), Brian said that Gordie had NO intentions of selling her and if he ever did it would be EXTREMELY HIGH. He likes her! I hear that she is doing a bang up job in the woods, likes to get treed with or without company and will stay hooked. I think we will be hearing about her in the future, she is around 14 or 15 mos old, and plenty of time to get better.........Tim

Good luck to you guys this weekend. I'm working long hours again and wont be able to get away. I'm just hunting after I get off work.
Timmy is still out along the east coast working insurance claims so I am hunting just the two older dogs. I'm wanting to start the two Turk pups, Cletus and Lacey, but it is so dry I don't think it will do them justice. They both will get fired up on a caged coon and get super excited on a turn loose coon. Just need some rain to make tracking more favorable.

Smoke alone last night. Tracking is getting terrible, rivers are drying up. He slick treed on me on the first dump after a short terrible tracking job.
Went to the river and on that dump Smoke got in 880 yards before he opened. Hammered a bad track up and down the river from the corn to the beans and back to the corn. He kept working the track to the west and got treed 1.4 mi. in from where I turned loose. Had a big boar coon that wanted to fight but Smoke won that tussel. Had a long walk, this section is 2 1/2 miles through to the next road and is an all nighter most of the time.
Tonight I will hunt Robin in a smaller section. Don't think I can pull another one like last night and get up by 6:00 for work.
I keep telling myself that this is fun???????haha

Talked to Dwayne Wood last night at the Prarie Home hunt, he said that there were sure some nice young dogs around his area from the Turk and NT CH Jill cross. He said that every pup in that litter made treedogs. This would be the same cross as Gordy Hale's little female.............Tim

I noticed that when Turk made the current producers list that only half of his pups are perm. reg. That means half are too young to even be put in the hunts yet. Iv'e got three under a year old and only two of them will be old enough to hunt this winter. The male that i have is about 9 months old and shows a lot of potential along with my 7month old female out of Turk.
Hope to have a good winter starting both of these.
These pups that i have are oblivious to anything going on around them when they tree. They are over the top on a turn loose coon and the house cats have dwindeled down to just a hand full!!haha They work great for over population of cats at my house.

GR NT Kit has previously been bred to GR NT John II and GR NT Crook both with outstanding success. This cross with Joker should produce the type of dog that gets down a holler quick and gets treed. Both Joker and Kit are proven reproducers, we will be getting one for ourselves........Tim

Bill Kaneal (Wisc) called last night to tell me how Max's (Turk x Hillbilly Millie) first hunt went. He didn't win but looked impressive, scoring 850 circle on 4 trees. All trees were big oaks that they could not shine due to undergrowth. Only one coon was seen in the entire hunt and it was a kitten caught on the ground. Max will be at another hunt this weekend and should finish out quickly.........Tim

I had an exciting night last night with Blotch! He struck in about 260 yards and run in another 470 yards and come treed and low and behold he didn't have a coon! He had a bobcat! I really don't want him fooling with them but he did a nice job getting him treed. It was so thick in there I liked to never got in there to get him out! Good luck to all the Mad-Dog fanciers out there in coon-hunting world! Gordie
