I'm pretty sure strength of schedule plays a big role in where teams get seeded! Maybe if UK hadn't played such a tough schedule, they would have been a higher seed than 8. That tough schedule only prepares teams for the tourney! Teams with cupcake schedules, or weak leagues, usually don't make it past the second round.
