We had one heck of a night for the Jabo breeding at the Houston County Coon Club.
Jon Christmas took Jim, my wife Amanda took Jo-Ann, and I took Jack....and boys it was on.
Jim took breed and class. Poor Jon couldn't get him to act like he did here at the house or he would have walked away with it too....as for how many points he needs.....I'll have to ask Jon.
Jo-Ann gave it to the Walkers for the Best of Show female, and only needs 60 more points for Champion.
Jack got up there and acted like he knew what he was doing in the Champion class and got his first win towards Grand Champion.
Now to the cast. I cast out with three very nice younger dogs, it was a 2 1/2yrs old English, 18month old Walker, and a 17 month old Walker. We cut them loose and they took off hard. Jack got struck in 4th and then nothin....all of the other dogs were going left handed at quite a pace when all of the sudden Jack fell treed to the right. We got in there too him and he had the meat. That put me at 150+.
Later on in the night I made a handling error that cost me the cast and 3rd place in the hunt. But at the end of it all of the other dogs were in the minus and I had 0 even. But for my first hunt in 8 years I'll take it. Jack was the only dog in the cast to be completely by himself with the meat. He did a great job for me, and I feel like we were a good ambassador for the Redbone breed...and that's what counts.
