Thinking of carry Daisy to that, to show on Sat. I sure wish I wasn't messed up in my neck so I could hunt Jackie and put her in it. Also I need to pick up a pup from up there so that would probably work out well. Just call we'll figure it out.

Here's Jackie's great great grandfather, GrNtCh Pipkin's Red Rooster, son of Fireball

Another get in the dark solid hound. I was planning on him being the sire to my first reg. litter. Only problem was I couldn't get my parents to let me drive to Miss., at 16, where he had went for a few months. Before I got a chance to breed to him he was killed.

Like this hound more the more I think about it.

Another very heavy GrNtCh. Fireball bred hound whose mother was double GrNtCh. Twister and father was a loud mouthed Full Brother to Ch. Gr. Nt. Ch. Nighty Nite Little Red (won the Purina Breed Race twice), National GrNtCh. Yellow River Red Music (won the Purina Breed Race), GrNtCh. Yellow River Red (Won the Purina Breed Race twice and 8th in the UKC World Hunt) (the father of Doc), GrNtCh. Yellow River Rebel (99 Nat. Redbone Days Champion), etc..
This is him at 1 1/2 yrs. .

His Sire, he was never really campaigned.

I've been hunting with these fine hounds his full Aunt Music

His full Uncle Rebel

Of course Banjo is another one of those Fireball bred hounds himself.

Gr.Ch. Gr.Nt.Ch.'PR'Terry's Ok. Red Twist'in Light'in:
Heavy GrNtCh. Oklahoma Twister/ Fireball bred hound hunts out well hard tree dog that can wind coons even when they aren't moving. Hunts out well and will go until struck. Was high scoring Redbone AKC World Hunt. This would mix in alot of blood from a good Twister cross since basically about 3/25's of his breeding is about the same.

He's a good hound but not a first and first type hound. He gets some 3rd and 4th strikes. Nothing wrong with that but just not something that would match well with her on more than a few areas. However, I do like this hound and the way he is bred. So you can pretty well guarantee he will be in with some of my hounds and if I don't get another pup from a Fireball bred female and him then after Daisy has her popsicle puppies and NtCh title then he and a few others will be on my short list of hounds to breed to. Basically no one knew a whole lot about him that I know of until I started asking about him when I seen a grown hound that had him in thier PED. That's how I got ahold of a guy who was friends with the guy that owned him a while before he was then put up for sale and Ron Swan bought him. So I definately know about him and like him, along with several others that people have wanted me to breed Jackie to. It's just I know Jackie well and also know what she would work well with. Not only for the bloodlines but to match her. The ones I listed have it at both ends bloodlines and a evening out match to her.

Getting Some Good Reports

Well I haven't had my pups out yet, the ones from Moonlight Bo and Daisy, since I have been held up from surgery. I sent the male pup I had to a friend of mine that hunts some for me. They are about 5 months old now and mine had never been out at all. The male I sent him is already trailing and opening second night in the woods. Dave in Wisc. wrote this about his pup, "Hey Steve, had Kid Rock to his first bear tree this weekend. We went totally nuts. He was so loud everyone was laughing. He is not afraid of anything and gets along great with all the dogs. We wont let him run bear till next year though. We watch him trail and tree squirrels and chipmunks at the cabin. He is growing alot yet. He still lives in the house and will continue to. I have the tree on video and will take pictures next time. Take care and hope to see you in the you in the winter." The other one Crimson Tide is before this post and won't hardly let the cats around their house set a foot on the ground. The other two pups I still haven't had time to contact the guys on for trying to talk to everyone about what to breed Jackie to. But I sure appreciate all the help everyone has given me don't get me wrong.

Kid Rock

Is doing so great at the tree. I am working on transfering a video from the cam-corder to a DVD. He also has a big, big bawl on the track. Just wish he was older and able to run bear. We dont dare run him yet in fear of him getting hurt. At 5 months, he is doing just great. He runs around the cabin without being on the road and is always on the look-out for squirrels. Hes a stand on the tree, tree dog and lives to tree, I do believe. This is a great cross and is probably the earliest starting pup we have had so far. When he saw that bear he didnt want to leave the tree. He paid no attention to what the other dogs were doing and wanted that bear for himself. But I wouldnt expect anything but great results from him because of the bloodline. These are the results you get when you do your research like you have. Thanks again Steve and will have a video to you when we are finished making it. Anyone is always welcome to see our dogs hunt anytime. If you ever see our dogs hunt, you will know why we hunt Redbones.

Glad to hear it Dave!

I think from what I have seen so far I will be doing this cross again later on down the line, once Daisy has at least a NtCh. title on her. However, until then I am working on several frozen semen litters. Once I have those out of the way I won't be so worried about losing this good blood. It's always good to hear reports so I know how all of them are doing. The only female from the litter I plan to take out before to long. She sure looks and acts alot like Daisy. The only thing is she is even darker red and has darker eyes. The male I kept was opening on trail the first coon trail he came across. I tell you one thing for sure it's always good to have whole litters start so fast. My hope is that this will become a very consistant trend in the whole line.

Coondogs for Sure!

It's really amazing to me how much all these hounds look alike. With as hard as I have bred on this line and the ones that I see that have this blood the good ones all have alot of simularities. For example, Hazel and my Old Ginger; Dynamite Fireball Red Sandy and my Old Sandy female could pass for twins on the tree. Last night I even had the joy of going out and listening to a Black and Tan female one of my buddy's own and another's Redbone pup I got from Danny Biggert. The Red pup is out of GrNtCh Moonlight Deana and Bo who is a double Kate half brother/sister cross male but also doubles on Fireball a ways back. He has been treeing on coon since he was about 4 months old. This thing sure reminds me of pictures of Rooster. Well needless to say after running in a tall soybean field for about 40 mins. hot, in 90 degree heat, the Black and Tan fell over and I thought we was going to loose her. The Red pup who is now only 11 months old though was leading the pack and only after calling to him did he come in. They had to carry the 1 1/2yr old B&T out. I'm going to send him my Dozer hound to have something that will keep up.

last weekend

Its the last weekend for training dogs on bear. Im headed to the cabin today. Will try and get everything on video. We will bring Kid Rock to the tree again and will have him on video showing how to tree on a bear Redbone style. He is almost the size of Rock.( The other redbone that lives in my brothers house). We are excited about him being a top dog next year. This has been our best year so far. We put up 9 out of 10 bear. And should have close to 50 bear treed in the month of July and August. The other times we had to catch the dogs before they headed into the wolf area. One time we have been outrun. No porkys this year either. No dogs hurt. My Annie female is gaining her weight back also. Will get you the video right after kill season. Ill have the camera with me also this weekend and will send pictures next week. Take care and plan on hog hunting with Preston and I this winter. Im going to bring 2 dogs. The dogs were on Russian boar before they were 1 year old and shouldnt have a problem stopping a hog.

Good luck with them.

I have never Bear hunted with dogs but this has sure been an interesting time for me to see how one of these would do on a Bear. Hopefully, Kid Rock will be something that you can use for years to come to keep all that good Fireball blood going for ya. I guess the next thing I need to try is to get one of these in the hands of a Mountain Lion hunter. I have known of some people that have tried running my stuff on deer even but that never worked out. They sure aren't deer dogs but they can sure run a coon (and now I guess, will soon run a bear) like one. Several times in hunts I've had people ask me if my hounds were running deer becuase of how fast they were going. Then I can honestly tell them, people have tried to get this stuff to run deer and it wouldn't. That's why I wasn't sure about the Bear but was sure interested to see. Well I guess a Bear in looks at least really isn't nothing but a really big coon and as we have talked about before they sure aren't timid. I'm sure glad he's working well for ya. Sounds good on the hogs too. We should have a good time. Look forward to those pictures and can't wait to see the video to boot.

Long walk.

Well turned Daisy and Jackie loose tonight. Most of you can probably figure how that went. Daisy was out hunting pretty well doing her own thing Jackie got treed in real deep as Daisy was swinging by so she came treed with her. They stuck there until we finally got to them. My neck was bothering me so I couldn't look up at all but a few minutes and Mike's back was hurting. So the tree was pretty wooly and we just figured, pretty quickly, that was good enough. First time in a long time I didn't see a coon when I had Daisy out but like I said the tree went all over the place, never mind all the vines. Both of these hounds have been just sitting around and Daisy has been in my house. For Jackie its been a little over 4 months or so and Daisy since Amer. Red. Days. However, Mike got to see why I'm so worried about Daisy getting out of pocket. We finally caught up with Daisy about 2 miles past the truck after we started heading back to it. This stuff sure can go.

This is what Dave Dean one of the biggest Bluetick men ever had to say about Fireball's granddad. GrNtCh. Park's Cherokee Red I have heard alot of good things about this hound through the years.

Hello, its really been hot here today it got to 92 had to turn the AC back on hope it cools down for the weekend gets here.

What day are you showing your gip at Oaks ? I want to be there for the show.

Josh Guffey will be showing Utah Jazz a litter mate to these 11 month ol pups hes TUFF they will be looking at a fine pup he has & hes getting it done in the woods also if nothing happens to him he shopuld make Dual Grand they hunted him a couple nights ago out of 5 tracks he had all first strikes & one first tree & he was hunting with a pretty nice English Dog that is a 5 yr. ol hound.

I'll PM you my Cell # this week also Ed cant make it over till Sunday so theres a bed here if you need a place to stay your welcome be glad to have you.

His wife is waiting on them to call her about a job so they need to be home Friday & Sat. to get this job.

Been talking to my foxhound friends

They say that I can take rubber cement and put on her pads to give her something to walk on. I am also having my wife see what she can get at her clinic as far as pain meds. So it might still be a possiblity for me to show her should know pretty soon.

If u know someone that works at a funeral home & could get some embalming fluid to put on her pads it will fix her rite up just ((DONT)) get it on you.

My dad trained TN Walking Horses for yrs. & used it after they were built up with pads he would put it in there to help the hoves & I seen him put it on dogs pads that had been worn down it will work if u can find some I seen it work several times but the law in IN stoped us from getting it sometime ago.

It would be worth a try to get u a little.
