But theres a 9month old redbone male i been in the woods with that is probaly the most impressive i ve seen. now granted hes a pup but this pup bust a hole in the dark get treed quick. seen him split tree with coon on 3rd night out in the woods. this is pup probly able to win most hunts right now and only been in the woods 10 or so times everytime he impresses me more everytime i hunt with him.

Best red dog I hunted with. Gr Nt Rosewood Radar: A Coondawg!! I got beat by him often enough in the 90's.

Last few years if I had a good red female I would take her to Grigs (spelling) owned by Tim Gilchrist. INTENSE tree dog.

Boys, i am not a redbone man, but if you want to see coons when you go hunting for them, Jon Henry owned by Brian Ratliff will show you coons all night long. as i stated before before, am not into the red dogs, but Brian has one in Jesup Ga that is as good as any of any color.

Hmmmm..I must be getting old to say something like that about a dog other than a walker. LOL

Ole Jon is a good 1 for sure! I treed a many of coon with him & he's pretty quick at doing it & don't mind if they 25 yrds in or 3 miles.... Iv said to many people many nights """ if ya don't want to go coon hunting we best keep him on the lead""" when unsnaped you will get him from under a coon somewhere..

It has been many years ago, but it was a female named Kate owned by Bill Anderson of Blue Grass, Iowa. This female was a consistent, independent coon treerer night after night!

Georgia/ Louisiana

For the people with such negative comments about the redbones... Take a look at the state leaders for Ga, and Louisiana in $kc, And make arrangements to compete against them... Take their money, or shake there hand when the hunt is over, and then tell them, man... That's the best redbone I ever seen, or that's the first red dog I ever seen tree a coon...

The best Redbone I've been in the woods with was
ALL NIGHT BRUSH BUSTIN CRICKET. She was 6 when I got her to train pups with. She had no reverse. She sounded like a fog horn when she sounded off. She was only 50 lbs or so but had a good mouth. The only way you could catch her is when she treed. She came from WI. I never had to leave her in the timber over night. I can't remember what her dam was but I sure do remember the sire. And he was Buster II. I've been pondering for a while to get another one out of him. Or as close as I could get. My gyp was one of the first pups he ever produced. And judging from my experience and the producers list I'd say he did do that.
