Ranger sure wanted to go hunting with us last night, but he still has a few more days of medication before he can go to the woods. He is eating better and is real active in the pen, this is probably the longest that he has had to stay home in a good while.............Tim

Here are two eight month old Great Grandsons to Gr Nite Ch Ch Nolan Creek Go Yonder Rowdy. Rowdy was out of Mad-Dog Banging Spanky. The big pup up on the tree is doubled up on Rowdy, the one on the ground has Texas Tree Banging Casey and Jet blood on his mother's side.

Tim, We have tried to line breed to keep this line close.
Rowdy was a great coondog, I want to keep that blood. Almost all of my dogs carry some of it.

We are keeping the Ole Spanky dog blood going by using our GR NT CH Mad-Dog Joker (grand son of M-D Spanky) Just had a GR NT CH Female come in to be bred to him, getting some more pups on the ground before he is gone. Almost 10 but still getting big litters. We have had some nice crosses using a Joker female back to John II............Tim

Do you remember Randy Heiner? Nite Ch Heiner's Mad-Dog Blue Spuds? He was out of Spanky, as well as was Rowdy. One excellent coondog, just a little trashy, but still a real coondog. LOL
Here is a picture of one of his daughters. She is pregnant in this picture. Lost all the pups to a new stain of parvo, back in 2002 or 03.

I purchased the blotch dog from Johnny Yoder. He is a real nice tree dog with a good loud mouth. He still needs some work by himself but he will get treed by himself no problem. When it cools off I'll try to get a picture or two of him to post on here. I don't think he is ready for the hunts yet but if he makes the kind of dog that I think he can I'll start trying to get him finished out! The other night my little John II female I purchased from Duane Wood was turned out last after a couple of other dogs on a road coon and she got split from them with the meat! I'm really proud of her! I'm really enjoying these young dogs but still have a lot to do to finsh them out! GOOD HUNTING! GORDIE

These dogs will get treed and they are there, I have a young female I got from Paul and she will knock the top out of a tree, She is out of Madog the coonwacker,and the josie female that won Queen of hunt at blutick nationals in 2010, She is looking good, we have a nice female that just birthed 6 pups. The sire is Madog JohnII.

We tried to get Randy to send Spuds up to us so we could finish him to Grand and breed some females to him, Just could not get it done. There was a Grand sired by Spuds in Tenn. that I saw in the Bluebook 5 or 6 yrs ago. If ole Mad-Dog Spanky would not have gone sterile at 4 1/2 yrs old I believe that he would have had a great impact on the breed.........Tim

Sounds like you have a nice pair of Blues. Your male is a littermate to Pauls Sally female (UKC 1st and 4th), she is nice and will do a lot of winning.

I really liked Randy, but he got away from hunting and let Spuds go to nothing. That dog was a natural coondog, with a ton of go.

I do believe that ol' Spanky would have really made a huge impact on our breed if things would have worked out different.

I have a young friend down at Cleveland, Texas that has a Dual Grand grandson to my Rowdy. He is called Blackburns Hemi. He is one of the nicest coondogs I have ever been in the woods with. I now have a 4 month old female out of Hemi and another of Rowdy's granddaughters. I am sure happy to get this pup to cross back with my other grand daughters and great granddaughters.

Robin has been looking better this week in the woods. She is getting deep and getting treed with the meat. Every night we have had some really good corn field races and the dogs are pushing them hard and shoving them out of the corn into the first tree that the coon can find. Couple of times they have been in some really small trees and the dogs can see them which in turn makes the dogs go bonkers.
Lacey is tearing up on a caged coon and if it ever rains we will start turning a few out for her.

Paul and I had a good hunt last night. Paul had Sally and Little girl and I had Froggie. First dump they took one a long ways with Sally and Froggie treeing it. The second dump they didn't go as far when we walked in Sally had one tree and Little Girl and Froggie had another one about twenty feet away all three girls weren't moving eather. Thank you Paul for another good hunt......Doug
