Last night Clyde managed to tree three coons by himself and earned his 1st win towards Grand at the Sherwill, VA RQE. He is now qualified for the 2012 UKC World Championship!!!!!!!!!!!

I appreciate all of the kind words from everyone. Clyde is doing well and he will continue to be pushed. Hopefully I will have him granded by this time next year. He's still pretty young and just turned 2 years old in June.

He managed to tree 3 of the 4 coons we saw at the RQE by himself out of a 4 dog cast in some pretty tough company. While the other dogs were running around in all directions, Clyde was busy treeing coons all around us that they had blown by or they couldn't do much with the track. We have a couple of big PKC hunts coming up over the next couple of weeks that I'm going to put him in so we'll see how he does.

I can't take too much credit though. Clyde has been a natural from the get go. If it wasn't for Tim telling me I better snatch this dog up as a pup then I never would have gotten him. A special thanks to Tim and Ken Rocha for putting this cross together and making one very nice, balanced hound that can get it done from time to time. Overall he's just a pleasure to hunt!

If anyone wants to come up this way for a hunt, let me know! We would be glad to accommodate as we are hunting 4-5 nights per week despite the heat.




Tyler- That is a nice looking female. I remember when this female was up for sale and I knew in the right hands she would make a good one. Keep it up! She should make a nice one and should really throw some nice pups if you ever decide to go in that direction.

tyler keep up the good work and hope to see you at the hunts first of the year
tim not many people will take money out of there own pocket buy a dog for the youth and give it to them we need a few more in this sport that will do as you have done to keep the youth in the hunts
also would like to thank all the people that have put there time and money to raise good quality hounds that have got us to where we are to day becouse with out them we would have no bean or dreamer or j-bean so that goes to say dreams come true becouse of all the hard work from the people before us and we just have to hope we can continue to make them come true with our hard work

my pup, which was the last female out of the litter, is just 4 months old. while working with my almost 7 month old male out of night heat eagle with a caged coon, she climbed out of her kennel and came down and started treeing with him at a steady chop even faster than he was! do you think she is too young to start working with like this, or do you think i should wait until the fall like i had planned?

Rhino,

you'll hear lots of differing opinions on this but I think I would wait a little longer. If she has it now she'll have it then and she'll be more mature as well. The biggest thing to guard her against is a big set back at that age. Let her be a puppy and anything else is a bonus.

I can tell you from first hand experience. When you start them to young chances are you will hurt them in the long run. I have nt.ch. and gr.nt.ch dogs out from 8 months old to 16months old starting them at 5 and 6 months old. Now its exciting to brag to people about how young your pup is but I have found out its best to not push them hard to there at least 10 months old. You can tinker around with drags and stuff but don't over do it with cage coons and drags. Thats jmo but I've damaged a lot of nice dogs over the last couple years by starting to early. My last female I grand nited out is my best yet, because I ease her into it.

My bean dog managed to tree 6 coons last night in about an hour. Now that might not seem like much to ya'll but here in the mountains of VA, that's like Christmas time!! They are hitting the cornfields heavy around here. Good luck to everyone!!

Simon thats getting it done, After 36 hours of no sleep i turned Dolly loose around 10;30, First drop 196 yards treed with a coon 2nd drop 487 yards with a coon, Coons are in the corn, the moon was full, Hot an Dry all n all thats doing Good..

Simon thats getting it done, After 36 hours of no sleep i turned Dolly loose around 10;30, First drop 196 yards treed with a coon 2nd drop 487 yards with a coon, Coons are in the corn, the moon was full, Hot an Dry all n all thats doing Good..
