The 2nd son of Roofus split trees w/the meat

Here is last night's video.. Nothing great but, Chopper had 1st strike and ran the track I would say a little over a mile and got split from a NTCH within 20-30 feet apart. He held pressure by not going to check her tree one he milled a little but never pulled to her..
Chopper has the makings of becoming an outstanding hound.. Two nights in the woods and showing me coons both times out. He still has a long ways to go. I am hoping the spring kittens will really bring him to where he needs to be..
I hope to bring the best I can out of him and show the world what a fine prospect he is. I am in a position that I have too many hounds and a litter of pups coming in may... But I am gonna put alot of time into this hound in the next few months. We will see what happens...
Set back and enjoy this UNCUT nearly 17 min video. However I had stopped the camera a few times during the filming but I promise I never cut anything out of it. It's all raw footage.. Most of the video's online only show what we want you to see... I am as gulity as anyone... Thanks JR

Roofus wins 1st place and....

Highest scoring hound in Poor Boy event last night... Elkview, WV
1 win and 4 more to go towards GRAND!!!!
This was a small hunt and my first time being at this club. Only 15 hounds entered with 8 ntch and 7 reg. We had a good hunt in my cast but on the 3rd drop a dog fight broke out between 2 Walker females just as we were getting at the tree. The aggresser was scratched.
Roofus' Score was 412 1/2+, 450 circle, 0 minus.
I had a family emergency and almost withdrew before making first drop... But it was agreed with me and my family to go ahead and hunt. I had plans of hunting the WV Governs Cup Hunt tonight.. But now not sure if I will or not. I didn't get in until 5:10am this morning...

2011 Peformance Sire

Roofus is a proven winner to me.. I am sure he could have already been granded out if I was putting him in more hunts... Last nights win sparked a fire in me to hunt him more to get him where he needs to be and thats GRAND!!!

I have never unsnapped a hound like him. He is by far the best competition hound I have ever unsnapped... It is my fault that he hasn't finished yet.. But I promise to do my best to get that done soon!!!

I have turned down some good money for Roofus but he is NOT forsale for any price and will die here...And you can take that to the bank!!!
Me and him are a great team and he is worth more than any big money could ever provide...

Thanks again to all that supports Roofus... And a very special thanks to Dave Haugh for such a great hound...

Good luch with your pups, Junior.

I would kind of hold off of their color a little bit. English hounds can change color when they get older. They won't be ticked at birth either, so you won't be able to know that. Some of the Blue ones may end up looking like Chopper. Maybe you have raised lots of pups and I am telling you something you already know.

I have raised several pups over the years.. I started breeding in 1989... At one time I had 60 hounds 15 big hounds and 45 puppies... I have even hand raised a whole litter by hand from the wound... The mother passed away the day she was due to have them she was at the vet for a week they sent her home for the weekend and she died about 4 hours after coming home. I was feeding a ton of feed every 63 days... I have seen blues ones turn red and red ones turn blue.. Hope all is well @ Lakeland... JR

Good luck with your pups JR, If you get a all white one you had better hang on to it or sell it to me. I owned a dog called Snow in Roofus' pedigree that was as well balanced as any dog I ever hunted with, she was tuff and a good reproducer. Kenny

As of 8:15 Seven pups 5 females and 2 males only 1- blue female for sure the rest appear to being red

It's now been 67 days since I mailed off Roofus' DNA. I haven't heard a word from UKC.. I am hoping to get this litter performaced by the time they are ready to go.. I always get a head count on my pups usually no later than the third day after birth I send for the papers. I like to have the papers leave with the pups.. I will be calling UKC this week... On advice on what to do.. I am sure they will tell me to go ahead and send the money in when I am ready to...
I am very excited about this cross I believe they will be cold nosed track driving coon treeing machines. The little women has already picked one out and named it. She spent the whole by Rose's side. She would help clean them and Rose would push her another when she would put one down... When I came home she was still sitting in the Kennel with them. A beautiful site... We have been blessed... With nine (For now) new mouths to feed.. Lol...

I called UKC they are expecting Roofus' DNA results back on June 1st... They told me that I could go ahead and send them in now with a note attached to hold the litter reg until the DNA was confirmed or wait and call back on friday June 3rd...
