Autumn Oaks 2014
Thanks guys!! Had a good time out in Richmond. Hunted with and met some really great people. Before I went, I still wasn't sure if I was going to hunt Pinner because he had overheated at the Preston Luft Memorial hunt about 3 weeks ago and still wasn't himself. But I entered him anyway and wasn't for sure what to expect. But Pinner is a competitor. He pushed through it and did a good enough job to win. We won our cast Friday night with 450+ and made it to the GRAND 16. I made a bad call on him early in the hunt Saturday night and when you hunt against great dogs like Fred Bear (Hank), Moony and Train, you better not screw up. Pinner & Hank ended up tying with 300+ but I had the minus and lost the tie-breaker. Then our scorecard didn't make it back to the club by 1:30am deadline and it got thrown out. I feel bad for Daniel Wilson and Hank because they missed their chance to hunt for the National Grand Nite Champion title. Daniel is a great guy and Hank is a heck of a hound.
Next step is the 2014 UKC Zone Quarterfinals in Cherokee, Iowa.
