Thats a good question but one that is simple to answer but also very hard to answer.

First the Boss Magnum light is a quality light and when we came out with it the light was and still is plenty bright to coonhound with. It is brighter or as bright as most lights out there.

Let me first define brightness in two different ways. You have brightness of the area around you. The light at your feet (halo) the light in your immediate area and light to shine up trees and see what is up there. The Boss Magnum will give you all this at a price most can afford.

Coonhunters wanted more. They not only wanted to see where they are but they wanted to see over there. We built the HotSpot 3D to accomplish that. The light beam holds together better and gives definition of things hundreds of yards away. Of course at the same time giving you plenty of light for your immediate area. The HotSpot also offers a red and green LED.
