Took Boone and my Fancy pup and had fun tonight. This was the first night we have had above freezing in about two weeks. We finally hit some good tracks and managed to get my truck stuck in the thawing feilds. Luckily I wasn't driving and the farmer that owned the ground was driving truck at the time.

Good times with friends and a long walk to get a tractor.... Priceless!!!!
And all this and was still back home by 9:15.

Isnt that what its all about great times make great memories. Im glad this snow has melted. Good ole midwest foot of snow last week 60 degrees this week lol. Looks like you had some pretty good runs there all of ours have been short lately. Love them long ones. Thatll be a hunt you remember haha.

Jared, I talked to Dean yesterday. I am going to take Cid up there Thursday. You can call him Thursday or Friday to release the semen. Dean said that because of Cid's age and problems that she would be a "high risk" attempt and that she only had a 50-60% chance of conceiving. But I am going try anyway. Crosses like this don't come along very often so it is worth the risk/$$$. I will probably have $1,500 in this litter but I should be able to get $1,000/pup if she has any.

Went to a $kc hunt tonight and that club had a good turnout. There was 25 entry's. I won my cast against 3 walkers and got in the final four. Boone was spilt with a coon in the last 6 minutes of the hunt to give him the advantage. I took home $90 dollars from the split.

Well Richard, you did all you could do. It's to bad, I've had at least two guys in the past week wanting Boone pups. I guess they will have to wait until the next female comes for Boone.

I did have fun Saturday night even with 6 inches of snow and 30 degree weather. I took my two cousins and there friend hunting. We managed to tree two singles and a den. They had a real good time and they even shot the coons out. I love taking youngsters and introducing them to the sport. I'm glad we went cause the next day we got 12 more inchs of snow and it's -10 now.

Ya I was pretty low that night Justin, but you must have been pretty bored to go to woods with silly redbones , we had a lot of fun in the snow. We did manage to treed a couple of coons with a confused bluetick and a silly redbone.

Well Richard, it looks like the big freeze is over, at least for a few days. It is only January.
The hunting has been pretty good the last few days. The coons are rutting and its been pretty fun going to the woods the last couple of nights. I went last night and made three trees in 40 minutes and was back home by 8:30. It's now just a muddy mess, but its better than walking in snow.
I thought I was going to have to send an SOS out for my dad on Saturday night. Boone went a few yards from the truck and hit a den, so I decided to turn loose again. He then went about 600 yards in a matter of about 10 minutes and treed. Dad decided he was going to make the walk to him but when we got in the bottom feilds to walk to Boone there was still about 8 inchs of snow. We made it to him ,shot the coon, and made are way back. Dad's knees got a work out. He said he was pretty sore the next day. He is making progress. It was like extra physical therapy for them I guess.

Well I won my cast with Boone tonight in the slam hunt tonight at WC. We scored on one coon and ended up with 175+. It took 200 to get in the final four with 94 entry's. I beleive I placed 5th. Oh well at least I got my entry money back. There was quite a few dead cast. So I guess Ill take it.
