Well my blue Male and I struck out both in the show and the hunt in Fayette. It was good to be able to donate to a good club like Fayette though. We will be back at it this next weekend

Guys I just found out today that I am one win short!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I got out my slips this morning and went looking thru them. So apparently I mistaked a old win slip from a previous dog of mine for one of Mann's wins!!!!!! Guys I am one nite ch. win shorter than I thought!!!!!!!!! I am beside myself today! So it looks like I will be back in the trenches tonight hoping to grub out another! I am going to go puke now! Elmo that would have made him a Dual Grand last night....maybe to night!

Well could not squeeze out the double cast win at the zone 1 bboa hunt last night. Raining pretty hard through out the hunting time.Handler Error ended up loosing the cast win for Mann. I called him treed way to quick on the very first ditch and he wasn't right and I knew it! All dogs hunted real well just spent a lot of time trailing and picking trees. It came down to the last twenty minutes and being behind by 25 points. Two dogs treed, Mann did not tree but could not get one by himself before time ran out either, all she wrote! Had a real good time hunting with a bunch of great guys and it will look like we will have another chance to do it again at a later date. So not too bad of a weekend, finished to GR.CH. on the bench/Friday night Nite. Ch. winner and almost snuck away with a double cast win which would have put us in the driver seat for King of hunt and my 3rd generation of King of the hunt for this zone. Maybe next year

Yeah, you know it is like breathing a big gulp of fresh air when you finally accomplish a task such as Granding a hound out. Elmo you are right it was a hot one this past weekend. I could tell my hound was not completly in hot weather shape. But he did just enough Friday night to pull a cast win out and take the nite ch. portion of the Dick Gray Classic held in Higbee, Mo.
Well I set a goal this spring to finish this hound out: In April we needed 4 Nite Ch. wins and 3 Ch. bench show wins to Dual Grand out. We were blessed to be able to attend 7 hunts this spring and accomplish that task. I am proud to say I have my 3rd generation of UKC Dual Grand Male! I can honestly say that I have also seen a steady improvement in areas of need in each generation. Now I would love to breed Mann to a couple of nice females and possibly come up with a 4th generation project.
There are a lot of good hounds being offered at stud these days. You would probably not go wrong with anyone of them. But if you are looking for a pedigree that has a lot of "Old" Utchman blood heavy on the top and bottom with a sprinkle of Jet on the bottom as well here you go! Mann is a good track dog/balanced with a accurate tree style. He is a bawl mouth track dog and a steady chop treedog. Now no dog comes without a fault or two and this hound is not an exception, but they are minor at most. If interested and woudl like to know more details give me a call and we can talk and schedule a hunt sometime. If you would like a few reference I could probably bribe a few fellow hunters to talk with you as well. Thanks everyone!

Well back in the saddle after a week and a half vacation with the family...good times!

Did want to say thanks to Jay Williams and JJ Callahan for deciding to try the Mann dog out in the stud pen. Jay brought up a littermate female to the Chip dog, JJ won with at Bluetick days this past spring. This was a nice looking gyp and hopefully all goes well and she has some pups. Men thanks for giving this hound a shot!

Now I need to get my butt back in the woods!
