Jonathan Christmas, John Baily, his son Ryan, Dave Stringer , me (Kent Wiley), and Larry Stringer ..........now that is one ugly group of guys with some great lookin hounds. =)
We had a great time down at Larry's place this weekend, good friends, good food, and good hunting.
Friday night it was just Jon Christmas, Me and the Stringer brothers that cut loose. On the first drop we cut loose Jenny, Jim, Jack and Ryder. They went huntin' straight off the chain and only went about 250yards and treed. The pups had the meat! That coon wouldn't stop lookin down. David's Ryder pup did a bang up job, it was the first coon that had ever been dropped on his head. The older Jabo crew (Jenny and Jack) did a fine job of getting the job done so the young ones could get a piece of meat in their mouths.
After that we cut loose again and didn't have any luck. So we wend and switched young pups. The second go round it was JoAnn, and Highway. They struck in and bobbled the 1st track. The second drop they didn't strike in at all....it was rather late at that point. lol
On Saturday, John Baily brought Rex and his Jabo pup Bones down and we cut them a loose. The first drop was the same as the first night and they split....Ryder and Jenny went one way, Jack and Jim went across the road the other way.
Jack did me proud of grubbing a bad track out and ended up treed at den tree deluxe. Jim was with him every step of the way, as a matter of fact...Jim re-found it for Jack once in a bad thicket.
Jenny and Ryder were nearly a mile from where we cut loose and grubbed up a bad cold track as well. The pups did a bang up job.
Now the second drop we switched young dogs and let Rex go in the place of Jack. JoAnn and Bones took to the hills with the old dogs and ended up splitting off from them. We ended up having to go in and collect them but they were hung up in a track....so for 8month old pups I'll take it. =)
Rex and Jenny grubbed a flat horrible track to run. Rex ended up treed in a bad spot.
That wrapped up the huntin for this weekend. I'll post pictures below.
