Jr, Good video looks like you have a good young dog there good luck with him. Are you going to southern english days?I thought if you were and if you were going to hunt Roofus that maybe I could spectate. That is if I don't hunt . I have a nice female out of Charley VII and Pearl that I may hunt . That is if I think she is ready. Have fun with that young dog and I'll talk to you later. Kenny

Kenny, I am wanting to go to Southern English Days again this year but I am not sure If I will be off... But if I do I will be hunting Roofus and you are more then welcome to join Team Roofus... We are planning on hunting Roofus on Sat night @ South Eastern Walker Days in Sailusbury NC on Feb 26,2011. I have already mailed in my entry that is if I get picked they are only taking 300 hounds per night.. I like hunting against other breeds to help the English breed look better LOL ... It looks like it may warm up some and I may get 3-4 days of hunting while coon season is still in. Maybe I can come up with some more video of Chopper, (Roofus son).

This paticular one was made with Windows Movie Maker 2. I just done an update yesterday and it has some new features. If you have Window XP it should already be on your computer..

I use the original Movie Maker. I will try to upgrade to Movie Maker II, it should be freeware from Microsoft.

I recently bought Adobe Premier video editing software but I am not sure it was worth it. I still haven't learned how to use Premier well yet, but I plan to experiment some more with it.

There is some interesting things I can do with one of my camcorders that I will do when I get time.

I got some good video of Chopper last night. It may take me a couple of days to get it posted, I have been doing lots of video lately.

Well, here's Chopper.

I accidently edited out the footage showing the first tree's hole. Chopper had 1st strike, 2nd tree but treed real well.

On the second tree, Chopper again had 1st strike but Penny found the tree. She didn't open on the track. Chopper wasn't real sure about the tree at first but finally settled in and treed well. I never have to tie him at the tree, he likes to stay treedI have seen Penny tree coon like that on real good coon dogs, so I wasn't worried about Chopper not settling in quick. He is setting up his own trees and will stayed treed real well when he knows he has got the coon. He needs more work but is coming along nicely. It will probably take next hunting season for him to finish as a coon dog. I may sell him sometime this summer but I plan to haul him to a few Bench Shows in the near future.

I want to add that I was hunting on ice with water on top of the ice. It was very slick. I broke my leg a few years ago under similar conditions. The tracking was very poor but the dogs got the job done.

Junior, be smart. Put your health before any coon hunt. There will be another coon hunt in a week or so.
