I'd have a beer with him, and would love the opportunity to talk about life with him...and to explain what people like us on here are all about. The major problem with Obama, I feel, is that he has no idea what the average American way of life is. He was born in Hawaii....then grew up in Indonesia. He came to the country as a teen and was swept into ivy league schools because of his skin color. When he got out, he was dropped into a city community activist role and from there was groomed by the democratic party to be their front runner, and soon to be president. Can anyone here honestly say he can identify with us...or even some Americans? He's out there on his own. I'm not saying he's a "bad" person. He's just never experienced an American way of life. He doesn't know what it's like to have your shirt soaked by evening dew while walking through a cornfield to the dogs. He doesn't know the feeling of walking over to a deer that you killed and feeling that primal satisfaction flow through your veins. I wonder if he's ever had his hands in the dirt, planting vegetables that will later feed his family? Or gone to bed with a sore body and blistered hands from splitting wood all day long? Has he ever taken the life of anything?....such as a game animal...or put down a creature he was fond of but it just needs doing because it's old or hurt? All of these things build the "American" character, and they're beautiful things to experience. I honestly think he hasn't the slightest clue as to what we, the average American feels is important and worth preserving. Trying to ban firearms, paying for volcanoe research and mars exploration, tax increases, and allowing other countries to threaten our existence is NOT what the average American wants to see. Maybe if he could sample just a little of our life we wouldn't have a guy making decisions for us, when he knows not what we are looking for or hold dear. It's so important to vote in someone who you can relate to, and will support policy that you can side with. I honestly don't understand what people were thinking when they cast their votes last year.
AMEN TO THAT
